Come and enjoy a peaceful retreat at El Bancal where you can relax and unwind in your own secluded grounds with spectacular views of the Sierra Nevada and the Sierra Lujar. El Bancal is a centuries old cottage which has been tastefully restored and refurbished with a wealth of wooden beams, modern bathroom, fitted kitchen and new tradional style windows with shutters, fly-screens and double glazing. Orgiva is a short drive away or a 15 minute walk. This small pleasant town has all you need including: pavement cafes, restaurants, banks, shops, and a colourful street market on Thursday mornings. The mountains and picturesque villages are close by and Granada only 50km.

Changeover day
Saturday to Saturday. We like guests to vacate the cottage by 11.00am on departure day and arrive from 3.00pm.

| Living Rooms: | Spacious L shaped room with a double sofa-bed, dining area, wood stove, satellite TV, you can watch your favourite TV programmes and listen to many radio stations, also a portable hi-fi and scenic views from the windows. |

All linen and towels are provided but please bring your own beach towels. |
Notes on accommodation
Ideal for couples (not suitable for children). Complimentary bottle of wine on arrival. Good selection of books and maps, walking routes, brochures etc..
Outside
Large private grounds, approx. half an acre, own parking area, two patios, one adjacent to the house, ideal for eating alfresco and a second patio under a thatched canopy. Your own private pool 5m by 3m by 1.5m deep. Plenty of shade trees - almonds, olives, plum, cherry, loquats and persimmon. The garden has two terraces, the lower terrace having a large banana plant, loquats, almonds, oranges, mandarins and raspberries.
Coast/Beach
The south coast beaches at Salobreña and Motril are about 30 km by car. Almuñecar, near Salobreña, with its beaches, castle, subtropical gardens is depicted by the author Laurie Lee in his book 'As I Walked Out One Midsummer Morning'.
Travel
Malaga Airport is approximately 2 hours away.
We would advise booking a hire car which can be collected on arrival at the airport. New service also to Granada by Ryanair and Monarch from Stansted, Liverpool and Gatwick Granada is only 50 km from Orgiva via a good motorway.
Distances
Orgiva is a short drive or a 15 minute walk. Granada is 50 km. Mountain villages are only a short distance away about half an hour by car. The spectacular scenery makes it an ideal location for walking, bird watching or touring.

El Bancal is the perfect home away from home. The garden is peaceful with spectacular mountain views and we loved being close enough to walk into the real Spanish town of Orgiva. A lovely house in a beautiful part of Spain. We have booked a return visit for 2007 - Mark and Sarah Jacques, Parkstone Dorset.
