El Hueco is a charming Andalucian farmhouse nestled on a mountainside between Comares and Colmenar. It has stunning views of the Montes de Malaga National Park and the picturesque hilltop whitewashed village of Comares. Here you can find peace and tranquillity and yet you are only 45 minutes drive from Malaga city centre and the airport. You are also only 15 minutes from Colmenar, the village capital of the Montes de Malaga with bars, restaurants banks and shops. As well as being able to take in the stunning scenery around the house you can be at the beach within 30 minutes. The famous caves of Nerja are 45 mins away, the spectacular rock formations of El Torcal also 45 mins. El Chorro, is 1½ hour away where you can watch eagles soar over 1,000ft cliffs and was also the location for the last scene of Von Ryans Express. The Alpujarras (remember Driving Over Lemons?) is a mecca for walkers and only 2 hours away. The world famous Alhambra Palace at Granada is 1¾ hour.

Notes on accommodation
The room has heating in winter and fans and mosquito nets in the summer. Coffee and tea making facilities are also provided. There are sunbeds available and guests can have the main terrace (that has the best views) to themselves. Internet access available in main house.
Accessibility
There is a track to the house but this can be easily managed without the need for a four wheel drive vehicle and is only 2 or 3 minutes drive from the tarmac road. The bathroom has two steps up to it but the rest of the accommodation is at ground floor level.
Outside
The Finca has old terraced gardens with lots of mature trees and quiet places to sit and enjoy the sun or the shade and three lovely terraces for appreciating outdoor eating, drinking and spectacular views.
Coast/Beach
The typically Spanish coastal resort of Torre Del Mar is 35 minutes drive. Nerja's Burriana beach 1 hour and if you fancy a trip to Marbella thats a couple of hours drive west.
Skiing
The Sierra Nevada is only 2 hours away for Skiing in the winter and mountain biking in the summer. We are keen skiers, mountain bikers and walkers ourselves and can show guests many mountain biking and walking routes closer to the finca.
Travel
Malaga airport is 45 minutes away, Granada airport 1¾ hour. Car hire is essential.
Distances
The nearest villages are Colmenar and Comares both 15 mins away by car. Riogordo is 20 mins away by car. Velez Malaga is the nearest main town which is 35 mins drive and has a large modern shopping complex. The beautiful and historic city of Malaga with its splendid cathedral, ancient castle and now the home of the Picasso museum is only 45 mins away.

Colmenar has 3 supermarkets, 2 banks and numerous restaurants and bars.
As well as breathtaking scenery the area is also rich in history with Comares having particular significance as one of the 3 principal Moorish forts on the Axarquia.
The area is also wonderful for nature lovers and birdwatchers.

No deposit is required but please let us know if you have to cancel rather than just not turning up. 2 nights minimum stay. Credit/debit cards not accepted Evening meals should be pre booked.
