The self-catering chalet/bungalow, studio-apartment and mobile home are adjacent to olive groves and woodland, offering a variety of tranquil walks, yet only a 5 minute (3km) drive from the sandy beaches and marina village of L'Ampolla which sits on the edge of the fascinating wetland conservation area, the Ebro Delta, where 'paella' rice is grown and where pink flamingos have made their home. The comfortable, well appointed mobile home, is situated in a mature garden area, which includes a barbecue, separate vehicle access and adjacent shared pool. Our well equipped first floor studio apartment with its own private terrace and barbecue, boasts lovely views to the Mediterranean and Delta to the front and over olive groves to the mountains at the rear. The 3 bedroom chalet has a spacious lounge/diner opening onto its own terrace, BBQ and private garden area. We have horse riding, goats and other small animals and birds. Ideally located for holidays and property hunting alike.

Changeover day
We keep changeover days flexible in order to facilitate the choice of cheaper off-peak flights. The accommodation is normally ready to occupy by 14.00h on the day of arrival. We ask for it to be vacated by 10.00h on departure day.

The chalet/bungalow comprises a spacious lounge/diner with adjoining open plan kitchen, 3 bedrooms and bathroom. The lounge/diner opens on to a private terrace and garden area with own BBQ. Satellite T.V. (English or French) with DVD player and radio. Bedroom 1 has a double bed. Bedroom 2 has twin beds and bedroom 3 is a small family bedroom, overlooking the animal area, with bunk beds and a single bed.
The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge, cooker, microwave, toaster, coffee filter machine and all necessary china and cookware.

The studio-apartment, on the first floor above the main house, sleeps two adults in twin beds and the scope for children on two mattresses on a mezzanine galerie, accessed by ladder(great fun) as well as a sofa bed. It has a kitchenette equipped with fridge, 3 ring gas burner, combi-grill/microwave, toaster, electric kettle and all necessary china and cookware. The satellite TV, with DVD player and radio, receives English or French channels. The accommodation has it's own private terrace and BBQ.

The mobile-homes, situated in a cosy mature garden area with BBQ, comprise one double bedded room, 2nd bedroom with single beds (ideally suited to children), comfortable lounge, kitchen and toilet/wash/shower room with half-bath. The kitchen is equipped with fridge, cooker and microwave and all necessary china and kitchenware. There is radio but no TV in this unit. Electrical sockets are British 3 pin.

 

Notes on accommodation
We are family friendly and our location and situation is best suited to nature and animal lovers rather than "bright lighters". We enjoy the best of both worlds, with the peace and tranquility of the country, but within very easy striking distance of all amenities.

Accessibility
We are not able to offer specialised access, but are always happy to offer any assistance possible.

Outside
Each unit is supplied with garden furniture including table, chairs, parasol and sun-loungers where appropriate. The splash pool, shared between the units, is of a rigid construction, size 7.5m x 3.5. x 1.2m deep.

Coast/Beach
The nearest beaches are at L'Ampolla which is 3km from the property, 5 minutes by car. They are mostly sandy with the occasional pebble beach thrown in for good measure. There are also many other interesting beaches and coves to be found within a short drive along the coast.

Golf
There is a new build 9 hole course just a few km from the property, with other courses a little further afield.

Special interest holidays
We have 4 riding horses and are able to offer tuition and/or trekking according to experience and age.

Travel
Nearest airports are at Reus (40 miles), Barcelona (90 miles), Girona (130) and Valencia (130 miles). To make the most of the area a car is recommended. Local transport is restricted to the train service which runs along the coast, stopping at L'Ampolla station.

Distances
For the young (or young at heart) Port Aventura amusement and theme park at Salou is just 35 miles by car or an easy train ride from L'Ampolla. Barcelona at 95 miles is easily accessed by a scenic coastal train journey or by car on the autopiste, as is the city/port of Tarragona, still with it's old roman ampitheatre. The old historic town of Tortosa, which saddles the river Ebro is 20 miles from L'ampolla and well worth a visit.

Further details
L'Ampolla, the fast growing fishing village and port, at 2 miles from the property, has a range of small supermarkets, patisseries, newsagents, banks and a pharmacy as well as a plethora of bars and restaurants to suit all tastes. Larger supermarkets and shops can be found at Deltebre, Amposta and Tortosa, at between 5 and 20 miles.

Booking notes
To make a reservation, we simply ask for a deposit of 25% of the rental. This may be paid by cheque, bank transfer or Paypal. The balance is payable on arrival in cash euros, or 4 weeks prior to arrival by the other methods. On receipt of the deposit we will send a confirmation e-mail along with directions and other relevant information.
