Edificio Marco Aurelio is a quaint block of apartments within the Puerto Romano area of La Mata. Our apartment is located where La Mata and Guardamar beaches converge and is very conveniently placed for all amenities; beaches, sand dunes, Wednesday market and bars and restaurants. The apartment is a bright, south-facing duplex with 2 double beds, 2 baths, an open plan lounge/kitchen/dining area, sunny balcony – ideal for sitting out and having breakfast whilst admiring the sea view. On the top floor is the sun roof with sun-loungers, table and chairs, and barbecue. The beaches of La Mata and Guardamar are literally a minute or two’s walk. They are two very different beaches. Guardamar beach is secluded with natural sand dunes and pine trees, and favoured by naturists. La Mata beach is slightly more commercial and boasts a variety of bars and restaurants with sun loungers and umbrellas to rent should you wish. The apartment is ideal for a party of 4 holidaymakers.

Notes on prices
Prices quoted are in GBP Sterling and are per week for the apartment including all bills.

February and October half terms, Easter weeks and Christmas and New Year incur a supplement of £50 per week.

Changeover day
Changeover day is normally Saturday. You have access from 4pm on the first day to 10 am on the last day. Flexibility may be possible during low season. Special rates available for long lets in winter.

Bathrooms: 1 full bathroom with shower over bath, pedestal, wc and bidet(1st floor).

Kitchen: Compact kitchen. Fully equipped with washing machine, hob, cooker hood, microwave, fridge freezer, kettle, toaster plus plenty of crockery and glasses etc.
Utility Room: Utility/Store room off kitchen.
Living Rooms: Living room with 2 sofas, English/Spanish TV, video and DVD player, coffee table and dining table/chairs, leading out through French Doors to balcony with table and chairs - views of the sea and gardens.

The house is cleaned and bed linen changed between guests. Cleaning equipment is available for your use during your stay.

Accessibility
This apartment is not suitable for those with mobility problems as it is on two floors and there are stairs up to it. It is, however, perfectly safe for children.

Outside
The apartment is set in a pretty complex with flowers, water feature and palm and rubber trees. There is a shared pool for guests’ use. The apartment has a sun roof upstairs with sun loungers and gas barbecue.

Coast/Beach
The beaches of La Mata and Guardamar are literally a minute’s walk. Guardamar beach is secluded with natural sand dunes and pine trees, and favoured by naturists. La Mata beach is slightly more commercial and boasts a variety of bars and restaurants with sun loungers and umbrellas to rent. There is also a variety of summer sports available on the beach in high season, including jet ski hire etc and no beach is complete without the lucky lucky men selling sunglasses, belts and jewellery etc.

Golf
There are no fewer than 6 golf courses in a 20k radius of the property, ranging from rolling scenic courses (Villamartin, Campoamor) to challenging (Rojales). Further information to follow...

Travel
A car is not essential for this holiday but a very reliable and reasonably priced car hire company can be recommended on request
Murcia Airport: Transfer time about 1/2 hour
Alicante Airport: Transfer time about 1/2 hour
Airport transfers can be arranged on request – Alicante airport 35 Euro each way

Distances
The house is situated 100m from the beaches and is within walking distance of a variety of bars/restaurants/shops. La Mata’s Nature Reserve, noted for its migratory birds and therapeutic muds, is a short walk away.
Alicante is a bus ride away, as is Torrevieja with its great shopping! Frequent bus service throughout the summer.

Further details
Marco Aurelio is ideally located for those wishing to spend a relaxing holiday - within easy reach of all amenities, shopping and beaches.
Day trips are possible to Isla Tabaca by ferry, Elche Safari Park, Torrevieja water park.
Torrevieja, a 10-minute drive away, boasts great shopping or which the Habaneras Centre is the hub. Here you will find a number of familiar outlets, including H&M, C&A, Zara, and a number of others to be explored… Beside Habaneras you will find Carrefour and a number of large hypermarkets of varying interest.
La Mata village has a tourist information centre, health clinic, chemists, and all other basics that you may need during your stay.

Booking notes
A £100 booking deposit will be required at the time of reserving dates. A £50 key deposit will also be required at this time. Both deposits will be kept until satisfactory inspection of the property has been completed following the rental period and, assuming no malicious or intentional damage is reported and the key returned, this will be returned. Cancellation of your booking will forfeit your £100 deposit unless the property can be re-let.
