Outside
A 25 metre shared pool is available to residents as well as a good sized kiddie pool. The apartment is located in the Luis Campomanes Marina, with several very good restaurants and cafes.
Coast/Beach
Peaceful, pebble beach 20 metres from apartment. Beautiful sandy beaches are 15-20 minute drive to Calpe or Benidorm, both of which also have many shops, cafes, bars, restaurants.
Golf
Three top class 9 and 18 hole golf courses within 20km -
the Don Cayo golf club is situated in the foothills of the Sierra Bernia mountain range, less than 10km from the apartment. It is located in the municipal limits of Altea. With a round of 3,078 metres from the white tees, extremely difficult holes - such as the 5th, a 580 metre par 5, or the 6th, a slightly uphill 227 metre par 3 – alternate with recovery holes which also require accuracy if you want to land the ball on the fairway. Players tend to prefer the 3rd, with its views of the sea, and the 7th from where you can make out the mountains surrounding the Marina Baixa.
Real club de Faula offers two 18 hole Jack Nicklaus designed golf courses with spectacular views: the Levante Course, an American-style championship course with wide fairways, Par 72 and 6626 metres long; and the Poniente course on the downward incline of a pretty valley, Par 62 and 3858 metres long.
Travel
Alicante airport 70 km (45 min drive).
Valencia airport 125 km (85 min drive).
A car is essential to take advantage of all the area has to offer. Car hire is easily available at both airports. Ferries for the Balearic's leave Denia daily and this can be a great extra trip.
Distances
The apartment is about 5km north of Altea, 15km north of Benidorm, and 8km south of Calpe.
Further details
Puerto Luis Campomanes is a well established marina with excellent restaurants, cafes, nautical club, diving school, beach and many other activities and facilities. A small bakery is located in the port itself and supermarket is within 1km of the apartment. A cash point is available in the port and a bank adjacent to the supermarket; additional banks are in Altea.
There is something for everyone in and around Altea - the Disney-style Terra Mitica theme park, Terra Natura, Aqualandia Water Park, and the Mundomar Exotic Animal and Marine Park in Benidorm (just 30 minutes by car). There are Safari Parks at Aitana and Vergel, Waterfalls at Bolulla, Caves at Benidoleig and Canalobre. For superb international shows with dinner the renowned Benidorm Palace and the Casino Mediterráneo at Villajoyosa are not to be missed.
Because of its privileged location and brightness, ‘a village roasted by the sun’, according to Gabriel Miro, Altea has always attracted many bohemians. Artists, painters, sculptors and writers of many nationalities have been drawn to the town, making their home here and benefiting from the inspiration they receive from its unique setting. They in turn, have contributed to its rich cultural life, and the official title, ‘Cultural Capital of the Valencia Region’, has been bestowed on Altea. The University of Culture and Fine Arts adjacent to the old town now attracts a whole new generation of artists. The picturesque old town with its narrow cobbled streets, surrounding the church topped by its blue and white tiled cupolas, is full of boutiques, artists and craft shops, bars and restaurants ranging from pizzerias to gourmet restaurants. Altea truly remains an unspoilt gem on the Costa Blanca.
10 minutes drive in the other direction takes you to the popular resort of Calpe with its long sandy beaches and an abundance of shops and bars. Other activities include tennis, sailing, cycling, fishing, golf, water skiing, windsurfing, paragliding, horse-riding.

Refundable breakages deposit of 300 euros cash required on arrival, to be refunded within 2 weeks of departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection). A deposit of 25% of the rental is due to secure the booking, the remainder to be paid no later than 6 weeks before arrival.
