Notes on accommodation
The pool is not fenced and so the accommodation is not suitable for children. Nets can be hung above the bed and the sofabed but with insect killer plug ins, and net curtains to windows of bedroom, insects are not a trouble.
Accessibility
Once arriving by car, all accommodation and terraces are on one level, though there are outside stairs down to a lower patio and garden but it doesn't need to be accessed. The property, 3 kilometers from Salobreña, on the hill behind the town, is reached by tarmac road until the last 500 meters which is a single track unmade road. A car is essential for all but experienced and keen walkers.
Outside
Set in more than 3500 sq meters of garden, the cortijo has a range of fruit trees found in this semi tropical climate. The private pool is partially heated by a thermic cover but from mid June to mid September average temperatures mean the sun gives the water a pleasant temperature when the pool is left uncovered. The pool, eight meters x three and a half meters, is automatically filtered twice daily.
The options of shaded and open tables and sun umbrellas mean that all the year outdoor living can be enjoyed e.g. breakfast in the sun, lunch shaded or, in winter in the sun, evening drinks and eating in shade or sun. When the town of Salobreña and its castle are lit at night stunning views can be enjoyed from the terraces at night as much as in the day.
Coast/Beach
La Caleta and La Guadia beaches are less than 10 minutes driving and the extensive beaches of Salobreña are 3 minutes beyond the town with a sea front full of restaurants and bars. The pretty beaches of Velilla (15 minutes drive) Cotobro (25 minutes) and La Herradura (35 minutes) have restaurants and the long beaches of Almuñecar (20 minutes) offer lively seafront activities, parks, bars and restaurants and in the old town picturesque streets of shops and shady town squares.
Golf
A number of golf courses exist in the area, the nearest 'Los Moriscos' is 10 minutes by car at Playa Granada.
Skiing
The excellent ski facilities of the Sierra Nevada slopes are 45 minutes drive away. During much of the winter it is possible to go ski-ing in the morning and enjoy sunbathing by the coast in the afternoon, on the beach or on the terraces of the cortijo.
Travel
Granada airport is 60 kilometers, and much of the road being motorway, is one hour's drive. Malaga airport is 80 kilometers, mostly motorway, taking one and a half hours driving. Almeria is 100 kilometers and takes 2 and a half hours on a coastal road and only partial motorway.

Guest comments
"The views are stunning and I never expected the house to be so lovely. We loved living outside and must go again." Jean and Gary
I just wanted to thank you for the wonderful stay we had in your Cortijo. The ad on the ownersdirect site doesn't do it justice because everything is so much nicer when you actually arrive there. The view, the pool, the house, everything was perfect and not so sterile as one could expect from the rent house. We are tired by now of telling people how great was our stay in Salobrena. Veljko & Sasha
