The 2600 hectare estate is dissected by the seasonal Ulanetsi River and surrounded by world renowned private game reserves such as Kapama and Thornybush, with the Kruger National Park (Orpen and Phalaborwa gates), Timbavati, Klaserie and Tshukudu Game Reserves within easy driving distance. Half day elephant back rides at Kapama. Organised open safari vehicles game drives or organised walking trials in Big 5 country. Lodge is 7km from Hoedspruit airport. Scenic routes to Three Rondavels, Blyde River Canyon, (3rd largest in world), God's Window, The Pinnacle, Lisbon Falls, Berlin Falls and Graskop Gorge all within half an hour from Estate. Also 450 km from scuba and snorkeling paradise, Xai Xai on Mosambique coast.

Outside
The private pool is 3x2 metres. No heating necessary for pool as Hoedspruit is very warm and pool is in the sun all day.

Coast/Beach
The border gate of Giyaronde, north east of Letaba camp inside the Kruger National Park, is the gateway to Mozambique. The East coast resorts of Maputo and Xai Xai are two hours drive from the gate. Further north is Vilanculos and the Bazaruto islands, four hours drive from the gate.
Golf
The Drakensig Golf Club in Hoedspruit overlooks the Drakensberg Mountains and boasts a 9 hole course. The famous Hans Merensky Golf course in Phalaborwa is 75 km away. This 18-hole course is on the edge of the Kruger National Park.
Special interest holidays
This is an ideal place to do birdng, hikes and walk, study antelope and just rest. The lodge is far into the estate and very quiet, wildlife is abundant. You can loose yourself here in the tranquiliity.
Travel
The nearest airport is Eastgate airport in Hoedspruit, 7 km from Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate. Daily flights from Johannesburg. It is highly recommended to hire a car at this airport for the whole duration of the holiday. Or you can take a 5-hour drive from Johannesburg/Pretoria.
Distances
Scenic routes. The Panarama route with sights such as Three Rondavels, Blyde River Canyon (3rd largest in world), Bourke's Luck potholes, Gods Window, The Pinnacle, Lisbon Falls, Berlin Falls, and Graskop Gorge within half an hour. From the town of Sabie you can visit Mac Mac pools, Mac Mac falls, Horsehoe falls, Bridal Veil falls, Lone Creek Falls. Romantic old town Pilgrim's Rest is 150km away.
Water acitivities: Klaserie Dam for fishing and boating, 35 km away. Game viewing

Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate is 1 km outside the town of Hoedspruit, Limpopo province in South Africa. There are three supermarkets, clothes, jewelry, lifestyle, speciality, a number of good restaurants and butcheries in Hoedspruit. Just outside the gate of Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate is a brand new shopping centre with supermarkets, shops, banks, garages, and restaurants. There are several banks and ATMs in town.

Guest comments
We worked out just by watching the dirt road we saw kudu female, 3 lots of impala, monkeys,. 'our' 2 adults and 2 piglet warthogs, leopard, leopard cub, and 5 waterbuck.
It seems the leopard has 2 cubs and is living in the bush between this house and the road by the house.
Had giraffe footprints on the road 20m from the house, didnt see the giraffes and found the BIG waterhole ( complete with very large herd of buffalo going down to drink) beyond the smaller one by a roundabout. Great excitement here..
2 wild dogs ran through the bush down the side of our bedroom at 7am. Later that morning heard 2 sep squeals (warthogs) then about 20 mins later more than 50 vultures descending into the bush about 50 directly behind the big tree.
