Amalfi is perched on the mountainside above Fish Hoek beach. The house has recently been completely refurbished. Amalfi has a large sheltered Verandah from which to enjoy the uninterrupted panoramic views. It is centrally located for the wine route; Golf and Horse riding. Swimming with the penguins at Boulders beach is a must. Fish Hoek beach is a sandy child friendly beach, perfect for a family holiday.

Notes on prices
Prices are for 6 people sharing. For greater occupancy, a supplement of £8.00 per person per day will be charged. Prices can be negotiated for longer winter rentals. We prefer two week lets over Christmas but will negotiate. We require 50% of the rental price to secure the booking. The balance being due one month prior to rental date.
Changeover day
Changeover day is Saturday 11 am, but can at times be negotiable.

Notes on accommodation
Amalfi is a mountainside house and is cosy in the winter and cool in the summer. We do however provide fans and radiators as well as a coal fire in the sittingroom. The house is child friendly, we do caution that the garden is 'stepped' on 4 levels. The garden also has a tiny ornamental fish pond. Amalfi is a very safe house with security doors and windows as well as a connection to an external security system.

Accessibility
Amalfi is accessed from street level via 50 winding steps on 4 levels.
Outside
Amalfi's crowning glory is it's wonderful (managed) gardens. These are on 4 levels and include many tropical as well as indigenous plants. It is reputed to be the best garden in the area! The large Verandah is paved and has pretty iron furniture and a table for alfresco eating. The views are wonderful and it is cool and relaxing in the summer. At night, it is like looking at fairyland with twinkling lights from Fish Hoek village below.
Coast/Beach
There is a set of steps from just below the house to the beach which takes 5 minutes to descend. Parking is very easy at the beach with a secure car park giving access directly onto the sand. There is a cafe and a restaurant on the beach. Life guards are constantly on duty and run surfing classes in the summer. There is also a sailing club which both hires out and teaches Hobbycatskills.
Golf
Clovelly Golf club is situated in Fish Hoek and is 5 minutes drive from the house. It has 18 holes and is Surrounded by mountains and sand dunes. Excellent fairways bent grass greens some sloping. Clovelly offers Men. Par 72 -5869 metres. and Women. Par 73 -5156. They welcome visitors. Booking necessary.
Travel
Fish Hoek is 45 minutes from Cape Town international Airport. Airport shuttle or local car hire can be arranged for you.
Distances
400 meters Fish Hoek; 8 kms Historic Simon's Town; 30kms Cape Point; 35 minutes Stellenbosch winelands; 10kms Boulders beach; 35kms Cape Town and V&A Waterfront; 4kms Kalk Bay.
Further details
Fish Hoek village has supermarkets and a variety of useful shops. There are very many excellent restaurants in the area. Olympia cafe in Kalk Bay; Black Marlin in Simon's Town and Uitsig in Constantia are three of our favourites. Car hire is inexpensive as is eating out and shopping in the Cape.
Booking notes
We require a deposit of 50% on booking. Payment by bank transfer - oustanding balance payable one month prior to arrival. We also take a refundable breakages deposit on arrival. Prices are per day and are for 6 people sharing, for extra persons, a supplement of £10 per person per day is charged. Prices for longer winter lets are negotiable.
Guest comments
Amalfi is a super family home set in a stunning location with the most amazing views. The house itself catered very comfortably for the 8 in our party (4 children under 10) and was well kitted out with lots of home comforts. There was plenty information leaflets regarding the surrounding areas, with loads to do. We were more than happy to sit on the terrace and watch the whales in the bay though! Sunset or sunrise I don't think I could ever get fed up of the view. All in all we had an fabulous holiday made that way due to the comfort and homely feel of Amalfi. Thank you! Lynn Robertson. On arrival we met the charming Jefferys Senior. With a glass of wine we spent our first hours on a terrace with a direct view over a beach full of action for youngsters . This view stayed an everlasting changing adventure for the eyes. From Amalfi to the beach by feet is a couple of minutes. We had a fantastic holiday, thanks to Amalfi & the Jefferys!
