Hand designed and built by the original owners, this delightful wooden 'Beach House' is a wonderful retreat. The entire ground floor is open plan with French doors throughout, featuring a comfortable lounge with large corner sofa (converting to a double bed), opening through to a dining room, leading to the huge terrace with furniture for alfresco dining and brais. The large farmhouse kitchen leads from the dining area and has all modern appliances. The 2nd bedroom sleeps 4 - two singles and a very comfortable sprung double sofa bed - suiting a family or group of friends. The luxurious bathroom has both a double shower and freestanding clawfoot bath. Our lovely villa also has a small lawn and natural mountain gardens - plus a large double garage for hire cars / bikes / water sports equipment. Local host is on hand for queries and assistance.

Price is for the whole house per week in UK Pounds. Reductions sometimes available for under occupancy.
Changeover day
Changeover day will generally be Saturday. But we will attempt to accommodate all requests/ duration's.
Accommodation
| Bedrooms: | Bedroom 1 with king size 4 poster bed (plenty of extra space for travel cot etc). Bedroom 2 with twin single beds. Plus sofa bed in lounge area. |
| Bathrooms: | Luxury bathroom with both double glass shower area and freestanding clawfoot bath. |
| Kitchen: | Large 'farmhouse' kitchen with all appliances including gas stove, oven, washing machine and dishwasher. |
| Living Rooms: | Huge open plan living area - lounge leading to dining room, all with French doors to the terrace. Large corner sofa that becomes a double sofa bed. Terrace has dining area for 6 and has sea views. |

Towels and linen included and are changed weekly. |
Notes on accommodation
Cots/highchairs can be supplied if requested. The house is wonderfully breezy, due to its proximity to the beach. But additional fans are supplied for summer. Additional heaters supplied in winter. From January 17th there will also be wireless internet access for guest use, And an integrated AV/audio system with music and movies. NB. the villa is in the process of refurbishment and so furniture will differ from the photographs.

Accessibility
The house is accessed via a relatively steep driveway and stairs. Unfortunately not ideal for guests of reduced mobility.
Outside
There is a double garage with remote control access doors. The gardens comprise wonderful natural mountain side foliage, a lawned area and the large terrace. Outdoor furniture and Brai supplied. Whales and dolphins can been seen at the right time of year. This house is designed for enjoying outdoor living and the wonderful Cape sun.
Coast/Beach
It is about 3 minutes walk to the sandy beach at Glencairn. Quiet and serene. The beach at Seaforth has a beach side restaurant and bar 5 min drive. The Boulders Beach penguin colony is a 5-10 minute drive away.
Golf
Several golf course are close by. Details can be provided on request.
Travel
Cape Town airport is a 40 minute drive from 'Hopes Return'. We would recommend car hire in order to see the surrounding areas. Glencairn also has a train station, which takes you right along the sea front to Cape Town.
Distances
Located on the Eastern seaboard where the sea is much warmer, you are only minutes away by car from Simons Town, the Boulders Beach penguin colony, the sea-side towns of Fish Hoek and Kalk Bay with their fabulous restaurants and Muizenberg famed for its long broad white sands, surfing and fishing. The city of Cape Town is only 40 minutes by car, as are the busy cosmopolitan resorts of Camps Bay and Hout Bay. The beautiful wine-lands of Paarl, Stellenbosch and Franschhoek are within easy reach.
Further details
The village of Glencairn has a small parade of shops including a supermarket, petrol station and pizza restaurant. This is under 5 minutes walk from the cottage. Another excellent restaurant Dixies is a 10 minute walk away. In a car there is an excellent choice of restaurants to drive to in nearby Simonstown, Fish Hoek, Kalk Bay and NordHoek. There is a train from Glencairn along the coast and in to Cape Town and you can sometimes book Biggsy's restaurant carriage for a champagne breakfast.
Booking notes
Deposit of 25 % is required at booking. Balance due 2 months prior to arrival. When a refundable damage/ breakages deposit of £100 per person is also payable. We prefer payment by direct bank transfer. Account details supplied upon booking.
