Located just 1 hour from Cape Town, Hermanus is a must for all those wishing to experience the stunning beauty of South Africa as it offers both mountain scenery, local wine farms, beautiful beaches and whale watching from the end of June until the end of January. Hermanus is a beautiful, small town with a fantastic atmosphere offering great local restaurants and shops and is a must for all those wishing to experience everything South Africa is famous for. The experience of seeing the whales so close is unforgettable and highly recommended.

Bedrooms: Bedroom 1 has a queen size bed and fitted wardrobes.
Bedroom 2 has a queen size bed with fitted wardrobes.
Bedroom 3 has twin beds and fitted wardrobes.
Bathrooms: Bedroom 1 has en suite with large walk-in shower, wc and wash basin.
Bedroom 2 has en suite with corner bath, wc and wash basin.
There is a further bathroom with a shower, wc and wash basin.
Kitchen: The kitchen is open plan with the lounge and is equipped with an electric oven, gas hob, fridge freezer, kettle, microwave, washing machine, iron and ironing board. The kitchen is fully equipped with crockery, glasses, utensils etc for up to 6 people.
Living Rooms: There is a lounge/dining room on both levels of the property. Both lounges lead directly out onto either the covered downstairs terrace and garden or onto the large covered balcony upstairs.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
A maid service is available on request. Towels and linen are included and are chnaged on a weekly basis. The property is cleaned once a week unless otherwise requested.

 

Notes on accommodation
This is a new property and has been furnished and equipped to a high standard. The ground floor is suitable for disabled guests although the bedroom door may cause restrctions for a wheelchair. The property is suitable for children with the shared heated pool being within walking distance.

Accessibility
The ground floor property is suitable for a wheelchair as there are large patio doors as an entrance and the bathroom has a large walk in shower. The lounge and dining area are all open plan with the kitchen. The property has not been especially adapted for a wheelchair and the only thing that could be a problem is getting through the bedroom door.

Outside
Both levels of the house have terraces and seperate BBQs. The ground floor has a covered BBQ terrace area leading to the lawn and has an outside table and chairs. The upstairs of the property has another very large covered terrace with BBQ and has a 6 seater table and chairs. The property has access to the clubhouse facilities which are situated in the Estate. This has an outdoor heated swimming pool, various squash courts, tennis courts, fully equipped gym and a golf putting area.

Coast/Beach
There are a variety of beaches that surround Hermanus all suitable for surfing, swimming or just sunbathing. The nearest is just a 5 minute drive away and about 10 minutes away you come to the stunning, huge sand dune beaches.

There are 3 golf courses within a 10km radius

Special interest holidays
This property is ideal for people who are interested in wine, nature, surfing, golf or just sitting on the beach!There is something for everyone due to the location.
For anyone, the whale viewing is a must during the months of July until January, Hermanus being one of the areas where you can see them better than anywhere else. The protected bay allows fantastic viewing. About 60 to 100 of these magnificent animals come here from Antarctica to calf. Tourists are often treated with close up displays as these creatures often come to within 10 meters of the coast. The cliff tops in Hermanus offer the tourist great views and the ability to watch the whales close up.
Other activities range from horse riding, mountain walking, shark diving, kayaking and bike trails.

Travel
The nearest airport is Cape Town International airport. This is situated 120km away from Hermanus and takes about 1 hour 20 mins. The route is very easy, just having to follow the signs for the N2. Although actually a main road, this is a very scenic drive. Hermanus is clearly signposted off this road.

Distances
The nearest town is that of Hermanus itself situated just 4km away. Visitors wishing to visit Cape Town, Cape Point, Simons Town famous for the penguins can use Hermanus as a base, these areas being about 1 hour 30 mins away. There are many places of interest in Hermanus including the daily craft market and many wine farms offering tastings.

Further details
Hermanus is a small town with fantastic 'seafront' restaurants, a good selection of shops, several large banks and various large supermarkets. This is an ideal place to visit if you wish to discover South Africa.

A booking deposit of 20% is required when booking either of the properties. The remaining amount must be settled in full 8 weeks prior to arrival.
If interested, the properties can be held for 24 hours to allow clients to arrange flights etc and then confirm the booking.
