Beautifully situated on the peaceful waterways of Marina da Gama in the Zandvlei Bird Sanctuary near Muizenberg, 'Ichibi' is a newly refurbished house offering superb views of the peninsular mountains providing the perfect base from which to explore all that Cape Town has to offer. So whether you are looking to enjoy the city, Table Mountain, the V&A Waterfront and other well-known attractions, or your preference is for dramatic coastal scenery, wild flowers, sandy beaches, high-adrenalin activiites, great golf, bird and whale watching, fine restaurants, wineries, trendy beach cafes, or just the tranquility of the vlei (lake), then this house is for you. We would be delighted to share our knowledge of the local area to enable you to have a wonderful stay in Cape Town and South Africa. Owing to it's layout around the terrace and detached cottage, the property is equally suitable for a couple, family or party of 10 sharing.

Changeover day
Changeover day and time is flexible by arrangement. We appreciate that most UK flights arrive in the morning and depart in the evening and will try to accommodate this wherever possible.

Living Rooms: Spacious, light, open-plan living room with vaulted ceiling, 2 large settees, coffee table, lamps, cushioned window seat, gas fire-place, TV/DVD, stunning lake/mountain views and doors to terrace. Dining area with modern glass dining table (seats 10).
Other: Triple aspect sun room with coire rug and ratan furniture with access to the terrace.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Linen & towels (excluding beach towels) provided. For bookings in excess of 7 days, at the end of each week a maid will change linen & towels, clean, tidy etc. Please contact the owner in advance if you require further maid services during your stay.

Located at the water's edge, this property may not be suitable for young children unable to swim. Cot and high chair available on request. Strictly no pets permitted on the premises. Strictly no smoking inside the property.

Accessibility
Due to the split level design of the lounge/dining room and steps to patio, this property is, regrettably, not suited to wheelchair users.

Outside
Large terrace leading to waterside decks and boat mooring. Teak table (seats 10) with chairs and additional cushioned bench seats, loungers, large retractable sun-shades, numerous large pot plants and barbecue. The terrace is sheltered from the prevailing South-Easterly wind and enjoys all day sunshine. There is an additional secluded court-yard between the cottage and the main house. The house has its own rowing boat for your use and the lake is delightful to swim in during the summer months.

Coast/Beach
The house is located just 3 minutes from Muizenberg Beach on False Bay. This is one of Cape Town's top surfing beaches with Surfer's Corner (on the beach front) boasting a range of surf shops/schools and trendy cafes.

The beach promenade has an outstanding water slide and excellent crazy golf for young and old alike. The miles of sand and gently shelving beach make this a safe place for children. There are many other beaches further south including Boulders Beach with its penguin colony.

Golf
The property is located within easy reach of many of Cape Town's top golf courses including: Royal Cape 15 minutes. Westlake 5 minutes. Steenberg 10 minutes. Clovelly 10 minutes. Please contact the owner should you require weblink addresses.

Travel
Cape Town is one of the most straight forward long haul destinations from the UK with overnight direct flights taking approx 12 hours (BA, SAA, Virgin Atlantic) and slightly longer flights with Lufthansa, KLM and Air Namibia. There are also cheaper flights via the Middle East. 'Ichibi' is 30 minutes by car from Cape Town International Airport; car hire is strongly recommended.

The house is located at the end of a quiet residential cul-de-sac with car port, ample parking and 24 hour security patrol.

A well stocked local Spar is just 5 minutes away on foot (10 minutes by boat!) with bakery and cash point / ATM. For more extensive shopping the Blue Route shopping mall is 5 minutes by car. Constatia Shopping Mall is 12 minutes away.

There are numerous restaurants within a short drive in Muizenberg, (Empire Cafe, Fogies) Kalk Bay (Timeless Way, The Brass Bell, Live Bait), Steenberg, Constantia, Newlands and Claremont as well, of course, in the city centre and at the V&A Waterfront.

Last minute discount: 20% if start date within 1 month; 10% if within 2 months.

Long stay discount: 20% for bookings > 28 days; 15% for bookings > 21 days; 10% for bookings > 15 days.
