Changeover day
Changeover day is negotiable although weekend changeovers are not available during busy periods (Sep - Jan).

Notes on accommodation
Hermanus Beach Club complex has all the facilities you may need. Within the communal gardens there are tennis courts, squash court, gym, 2 swimming pools plus a paddling pool for children, mini-golf, and large grassy areas for playing. There is a cafe / bar and a lounge with a large TV screen. There is a laundry facility with washing machines, tumble dryers and outdoor drying area. The apartment has a designated car parking space and there are also parking spaces for visitors.

Accessibility
The apartment is on the second floor and there is no lift.
Outside
Large private terrace with braai (BBQ), picnic table and sun loungers provides opportunities for dining alfresco, sun-bathing, whale watching or just relaxing.
Coast/Beach
Beach beside Hermanus Beach Club is rocky and not suitable for swimming. There is a sandy beach with life-savers, cafe, etc at Grotto Beach, Hermanus at about 5km.
Golf
There are two golf courses with a short drive of the apartment.
Arabella Golf Club: voted the number two golf course in South Africa and the top golf course in the Western Cape; home to the Nelson Mandela Invitational. The course is 6381 metres in length, par 72. Designed by Peter Matkovich, the 18 holes encompass the mountain backdrops, lagoon frontage and forests just outside Hermanus. Visitors are welcome.
Hermanus Golf Club: 18 hole parklands course in Hermanus, designed by Bob Grimsdell, 6025 meters long, par 72. It is set in magnificent scenery with views of the sea and a backdrop of the mountains. Wild life and natural Cape flora are attractive features and the many trees provide the beauty for ideal golfing terrain. Has become one of the most popular golf courses in the country - a definite 'must play' course. The Hermanus Golf Club is a private course, offering privacy to the members, yet accessibility to the public.
Travel
Nearest airport is Cape Town International at around 100km. Car hire is essential.
Distances
Hermanus is situated on the coast, 120km south east of Cape Town and is around a 90 minute drive from Cape Town airport. It is a quaint, friendly town, famous for being inhabited by Southern Right Whales every year between August and November. It is considered to be the best place in the world for whale watching. There are many fine restaurants, cliff top walks and sandy beaches in and around Hermanus.
Further details
Opportunities for all sorts of water and land based-activities in the area including shark diving, surfing, hiking and golf. Walker Bay wineries, including the famous Hamilton Russell, are within a 15 minute drive. The wine growing regions of Franschhoek and Stellenbosch are just over an hour's drive through stunning scenery and mountain passes.
Booking notes
Rental prices are all-inclusive (including cleaning, electricity and water). A 50% deposit is payable to confirm your booking; the balance payable 8 weeks before arrival. A £200 security deposit is also payable 8 weeks before arrival - this will be returned within 7 days of the end of your holiday, held against return of keys and charges for any damages or breakages. Once deposit is received an information pack will be sent. Check in time is 4pm, check out by 10am (negotiable in low season).
