Accommodation
Bedrooms: Bedroom 1 (house) master room with double bed and fitted wardrobe, French doors leading onto garden and pool area.
Bedroom 2 (house) with 2 single beds and fitted wardrobe.
Bedroom 3 (apartment) with double bed and fitted wardrobe.
Bathrooms: En-suite bathroom to master bedroom in house, white Victorian style bath and shower mixer.
Shower, hand basin and WC to bedroom 2 in house
Bathroom with bath /shower over and WC in apartment.
All newly fitted in 2005.
Kitchen: Fitted cream wooden units and terracotta tiled floors. House has cooker, extractor fan, dishwasher, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave, toaster and filter coffee machine. Apartment has portable cooker/hob, microwave, toaster and fridge.
Utility Room: In both the house and the apartment there is a washing machine, iron, ironing board and clothes drying rack.
Living Rooms: House lounge is open plan with luxury sofas, chairs, coffee table, desk, bookcase, TV and DSTV, and dining area for 6 leading onto patio via French doors. Apartment living area is open plan with sofa, coffee table, dining table, 2 chairs and kitchenette.

Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Fresh white towels and 100% cotton linens are included, as are pool towels. We provide weekly linen change for guests staying over a week. If you'd like maid or laundry service this can be arranged for a small additional charge.

Notes on accommodation
The master bedroom has air conditioning (although we prefer to open the French doors and let the breeze in!). No smoking please in the house or apartment. No pets except guide (sight or hearing) dogs. Internet access and telephone can be arranged for stays of longer than one month. The house and apartment are available as a whole unit or separately.

Accessibility
The property is single storey accommodation. There are 3 steps up to the front door. There is a small step up to the master bedroom in the house and the corridor to the master bedroom may not allow wheelchair access.

Outside
The private walled garden has a private pool (c14 x 8 ft) which is cleaned weekly as well as having a barracuda with pump installed. There are lovely mountain views from the garden and very little passing traffic so snoozing in the sun is easy! The house and apartment patios both have table and chairs. The house has a barbecue / braii. The gardener comes once a week and there is an overnight irrigation system in place to keep the lawns and borders fresh. The apartment and house gardens are private and separated by a gate that can be left open if guests are using the whole property.

Travel
Cape Town airport is only 40 minutes drive away and very easy to get to from Franschhoek. Car hire is recommended if you want to visit the many wonderful wine farms in the Cape Winelands region. However you don't have to have a car as there is plenty to do in the village as well.

Distances
Franschhoek village centre is only 5 mins walk. Paarl is 20 mins drive away, and Stellenbosch 25 mins.

Further details
Franschhoek village is home to some of the world's finest award winning restaurants including Le Quartier Francais, Rubens and La Petite Ferme. In the area there are over 30 wine farms producing outstanding wine such as Boschendal, Dieu Donne, Moreson, Rickety Bridge, Mont Rochelle, Cape Chamonix. For the most fabulous views we recommend Dieu Donne. The village itself bustles with cafes, boutiques, antique shops, book shops and galleries. There are several banks, supermarkets, and an internet cafe. Franschhoek hosts several food, wine and music festivals throughout the year. Paarl and Stellenbosch have extensive shopping facilities, restuarants and open air events. Stellenbosch is full of history and old Dutch style buildings, well worth a visit. Our property is managed by Edwin Stolk who will meet and greet you, show you around the house, prepare it for your arrival, and be on hand to help with any queries.
