Hermanus is famous for its whales, (best season August - November). It has a beautiful golf course, several sandy beaches and a huge choice of great restaurants. The walk along the cliff top with the waves crashing below is one of the most beautiful walks in the world. Cape Town is 90 mins drive away. Local wineries include Hamilton Russell and Bouchard Finalyson while the Stellenbosch wineries are less than an hour’s drive away. Recently redecorated, all bedrooms are light and airy.

Accessibility
Although the house is a bungalow - all on one level, there is one small set of steps into the house.
Outside
Large rear garden with magnificant mountain views. Outdoor dining table - seats up to 10. Outdoor furniture including armchairs, sofa, table and deckchairs providing comfortable seating for 12. Large kettle drum barbeque. Pond with birdbath, fountain and light - beautiful at night!
Coast/Beach
There are several smaller beaches and a very long white sandy beach in Hermanus, 15 minutes walk (or 5 minutes drive) from the house. The waves are strong but fantastic for surfing or boogie boarding. Voelklip and Grotto have safe swimming areas and lifeguards on duty.
Golf
2 minutes walk from 18-hole golf course. The Hermanus course is set in magnificent scenery with views of the sea and a backdrop of the mountains. Wildlife and natural Cape flora are attractive features and the many trees provide the beauty for ideal golfing terrain.
Special interest holidays
From July - December Hermanus offers the best whale viewing from land in the world. A cliff path stretching from one side of the town to the other, hugs the coastline for about 12km giving whale watchers unlimited opportunities to study the whales in the coves below or lolling just beyond the breakers.
Hermanus is home to several world class wineries including Hamilton Russell and Bouchard Finlayson. In addition to wine tastings and tours, some of the local wineries have excellent restaurants.
Travel
Cape Town International Airport is 90 minutes away. Airport transfers can be arranged. Public transport is poor and a hire car is strongly recommended in South Africa.
Distances
Shops include a food supermarket, coffee shop and wine shop ten minutes walk away. The main Hermanus village is a 20 minute walk with a large variety of restaurants and bars, fashion shops, art galleries and more.
