This delightful modern terraced house sits in the small rural settlement of Limbus, close to the main town of Maribor. There are many easy and challenging walks starting from the house through mountains and vineyards. The ski slopes are less than five minutes drive away with plenty of all year round activities for the energetic or for those preferring to relax by the pool at one of the many spas or soak up the European cafe culture in town. In the summer the Terme Ptuj is a 45 min drive away and offers a large indoor and outdoor water park, much loved by families with many water slides and pools. Maribor offers two Spas with indoor and outdoor pools, saunas, steam rooms and massage and beauty therapies. On the other side of Limbus by the river Drava there is a water sports centre, offering kayaking and boating. For energetic youngsters there is a zip wire park ten minutes drive away.

Skiing
The ski centre Mariborsko Pohorje, less than five minutes away by car, offers more than 41.5 km of well-kept slopes for all kinds of skiers, be it a beginner or an expert skier. The slopes range from 325 m to 1327 metres above the sea level.
The Pohorje ridges offer 27 km of cross-country ski runs.
The slopes are connected by 5 chairlifts, 16 ski-lifts and by a gondola.
If you buy a multi-day ski pass on Mariborsko Pohorje, you can use it in the ski centres Kope, Ribniko Pohorje and in Kranjska Gora.
Travel
By plane, Ryanair, to Graz in Austria is 50km away. By plane, Easyjet, to Ljubljana is 125km away. By car, to Hook of Holland, is 1250km away (apprx 776 miles). Car hire is recommended and available at the airports.

5 mins drive to Pohorje ski resort. 10 mins drive to Maribor town centre.
Further details
Pohorje is a very popular mountain biking destination. Mountain bikes can be hired locally and can be taken up the cable car for a thrilling ride down the mountain. Many more leisurely routes can be found that start at the house and either go up into the hills through the vineyards or down along the Drava into town. The resort has hosted the UCI Mountain Bike Championships on many occasions.
In the summer it is also possible to go horse riding, paragliding or enjoy the thrill, for all ages, of the Pohorjet, a 'buggy' that rides down a mono rail, guided by you down what in the winter is a red ski run.

About the owner
We have owned this property for five years and go to Slovenia several times a year. It is a great family destination and our boys enjoy hill walking, skiing and swimming. There are great festivals and activities and so it is ideal for an active family.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
Slovenia is a fantastic country, the Slovenes are very friendly and helpful and most will speak either English or German. It is a very small, but proud nation and they hold many sporting events, from the world mountain biking championships, world frisbee championships to name a couple and have a fantastic local football team.
Unique benefits of the property
It is very affordable and a family of four can dine out for under 40 euros with fine dining still less than 100 euros for four. The skiing is again very family orientated and again very affordable. There are plenty of local wines and produce with local wines starting at one euro a litre! It is very much off the beaten tourist track and gives easy access to Austria, Hungary and Croatia being smaller than Wales.
