The property is built entirely of wood with a traditional Hungarian wood burning chimney in the living area, which can be used in winter to heat the entire house in addition to the electric central heating. Outside is a stone built and paved barbecue area. Terraced area has wooden table and benches for al fresco eating next to lawned area. 2 sun loungers are also provided. There are 2 adult's, 1 teenager's and 1 child's bike with helmets provided. Surrounded by nature in the beautiful Goricko Park it is close to the spa and golf facilities at Moravske Toplice. It provides an ideal base for walking, cycling, wine-tasting or doing absolutely nothing.

Changeover day is Saturday. Please leave by 11.00 and do not arrive until after 15.00.

Coast/Beach
Slovenia has a very short, but beautiful, coastline which is approx 3.5 hours by car from the cottage. The Croatian coast is a similar distance. An alternative to the beach is to bathe in Lake Balaton in Hungary - approx 1.5 hours by car. The cottage is very close to the Hungarian border, about 5 mins by car or 15 mins by bike, which offers an additional cultural and culinary experience.

18 hole golf course with practice facilities at Terme 3000 in Moravske Toplice (15 mins by car).

Graz airport (Austria) approx 1 1/4 hr. Ryanair from Stansted.
Maribor airport approx 1 1/4 hr. Ryanair from Stansted from 7 June 2007.
Balaton airport (Hungary) approx 1 1/2 hr. Ryanair from Stansted.
Ljubljana airport approx 2 1/2 hr. Easyjet from Stansted.
Drive from London: 2 days with overnight stay in S. Bavaria.
Transfer to and from airports can be arranged. A hire car can be delivered to the cottage for you. You will need a car for your stay.

20 mins to regional capital of Murska Sobota with shops, supermarkets, restaurants, banks, doctors, dentist and free internet access at modern library. Easy access to Austria, Hungary and Croatia.
Further details
Selo is a very small village (the name means village) with a historic round chapel from the 13th century and a regionally renowned restaurant "K Rotundi" to which you can walk in 5 mins from the cottage. Take a torch for your return journey at night as there are no street lights. One of the beauties of the village is that there is no light pollution, when you step outside at night it is pitch black! The whole area is very fertile and grapes and other fruits grow in abundance. There are ample opportunities to sample the local white wines at various vinotoci (vineyards with food) and one of the best is Jani Ernisa at Suhi Vrh (10 mins by car). If you get to know the neighbours during your stay they are likely to insist that you also sample their home made wines.
Cycling is very popular in the region and there are about 50 marked cycle ways of varing lengths from 10-100km which can also take in parts of Austria and Hungary. Details are provided at the cottage.
The southern part of Pomurje also offers a fabulous wine landscape with the historic towns of Jeruzalem, Ljutomer. Ormoz and Ptuj (Slovenia's oldest town). Try the fish restaurant Ribic in Ptuj but avoid the weekend as the service slows down.
Murska Sobota has all the facilities which you would expect from a regional capital with a variety of eating choices but most are closed on a Sunday and many are also shut on Monday. An exception is the Chinese restaurant which is not bad.
Booking notes
A deposit of 3 day's rental is required within 5 days of making the booking in order to hold it. This is non-refundable. The balance must be paid at least 30 days before arrival. Prices are quoted in UK Pounds but payment may be made in UK Pounds or Euros at agreed exchange rate. A minimum stay of 7 nights is required for bookings in the period 1 July to 15 September and 22 December to 5 January.
