This cosy seaside cottage, which is over a hundred years old, has just undergone a full renovation to bring it up to the highest of standards. Situated a few steps away from seven miles of sandy beach, it is in an idyllic location for either a family holiday or for a relaxing getaway. Open the french doors and sit on the patio to admire the sea view or, on cooler evenings, light the wood burning stove and curl up on the sofa to enjoy one of the books or games provided. As well as beautiful beaches and forest paths to explore Morayshire has many other attractions including castles, museums and distilleries.

Changeover day
Changeover day is Friday. Arrival must be after 4.00pm and departure by 11am to allow time for cleaning. Short breaks can also be arranged: Friday to Monday or Monday to Friday.

Notes on accommodation
Wooden flooring with rugs throughout ground floor, apart from utility room and shower room, which are tiled. The whole of the ground floor has under floor heating. Upstairs bedrooms are carpeted and the upstairs is heated by radiators. Sorry no pets allowed and no smoking. One basket of logs provided. Welcome pack and complimentary toiletries.
Accessibility
Not suitable for wheelchair user. One step up at front door. At back there are 2 steps up from drive and then 1 step up at back door. No hand rails. 2 bedrooms on ground floor and shower room.
Outside
Gated drive in for 2 cars plus plenty of on street parking. Large sun trap patio area with wonderful sea view. There is also garden furniture, a barbecue and log store. Gravel area at the foot of the garden with fruit trees.
Coast/Beach
Burghead is situated on a peninsula and therefore has a beautiful 7 mile sandy beach on one side and a more rugged, rocky beach with great rock pools on the other side. The sandy beach is backed by woodland with forest paths for walking and cycling. Dolphins can often be seen in the Moray Firth.
Golf
There are many local golf courses.
Travel
Nearest airports are at Inverness (29 miles) and Aberdeen (72 miles)
Car hire or use of a car is recommended if you want to explore the local area.

The nearest towns to Burghead are Elgin (8 miles) and Forres (8 miles).
Further details
Within Burghead there is a grocery store, post office, chemist, library and hairdresser. There are also local pubs serving good bar meals and plenty of other pubs and restaurants within a short driving distance. Supermarkets at Elgin and Forres. Up on the headland of Burghead is the Headland Trust's information centre which has been set up as an educational centre about the very interesting history of the area. Climb the stairs for a magnificent view of the surrounding coastline.

E-mail enquiries preferred. A 20%, non refundable, deposit is required to secure the booking and the balance is due 8 weeks prior to your arival date. A £100 breakages/damages deposit payable with balance. This will be refunded, minus any payment for breakages or damages, after return of house keys.
