They are very private and benefit from this peaceful, unpolluted, majestic setting at the top of Glen Urquhart. Just far enough away from the busy tourist routes for you to escape, but within easy reach of the rest of the Highlands of Scotland to make this a really perfect central base. You will not be disturbed by sirens or awakened by car alarms here. All are designed in the traditional style of the croft cottage using local materials; opened in 2005. Welcome to our rural idyll!

Notes on accommodation
We are very child and baby friendly. All the properties are suitable for children, though there is a burn (small river) where it is suitable to paddle and fish with nets, a few metres away from the cottages. Children should be supervised at all times. Sorry no pets. No smoking in the cottages.

Accessibility
All the cottages are open plan, and have easy access for the elderly and disabled.

Outside
Each cottage has a private car parking area and garden over looking the forest and the burn, which runs along the bottom of the gardens. The burn is very shallow and is a great place for paddling, though children should be accompanied. All the gardens regularly have deer and many other types of wildlife visiting them. There is a barbecue and outdoor furniture.

Guest comments
'We would like to congratulate you on achieving your aim to provide a ‘rural idyll’ in the Highlands. We as a family have travelled far and wide and always choosing self catering accommodation, but no where has provided us with the overall, extremely high standards in furnishings, comfort, facilities, friendliness and love. Very few places could enable us to cook our freshly caught salmon in such style and provide us with the means to take it home too! Millness Croft is perfect to ‘chill out’ on site and also offers a good base to explore the surrounding area. We would highly recommend Millness Croft to family and friends and we will certainly return ourselves'.

'We have had a fantastic break. The boys have had fun in the river with their nets. The cottage has everything to make you most comfortable. We have relaxed in the spa and then slept on clouds in beautifully presented rooms. Your attention to detail is faultless. Well done!'.
