Situated in a former 18th century bakery and above a specialist chocolate shop and cafe, a short stroll down to the harbour and all amenities. Pittenweem is close to the golf centre of St Andrews and historical Falkland Palace, half an hour from Dundee and one hour from Edinburgh. Pittenweem is renowned for its annual arts festival in early August and is home to a number of artists and specialist galleries. Local attractions include castles, gardens, golf, watersports and coastal walks.

Changeover day
Changeover day is Friday. (Other changeover days by arrangement) Weekly bookings from 4pm Friday to 10am the following Friday. Shorter rentals by arrangement.

Coast/Beach
Pittenweem is an historic fishing village with working harbour and stunning views accross the Firth of Forth to Bass Rock and the Isle of May. The village is on the Fife Coastal Path which runs from the Forth bridges to the Tay bridge. The popular sandy family beach at Ellie beach is close by - a few miles along the coast. There are 5 international Blue Flag beaches within 15 mins of Pittenweem.
Golf
In the heart of "Home of Golf" country. Close to the world famous St Andrews golf courses. 10 miles from the St Andrews courses, 4 miles from Crail (Balcomie Links), 3 miles from Ellie and Earlsferry courses. Short drive to the championship courses at Kingsbarns (6 miles), St Andrews Bay (Fairmont Hotel) and Carnoustie.
Travel
Nearest airports include Edinburgh (about 45 miles/1 hour), Dundee and Glasgow. Good rail links to/from Edinburgh, Dundee and Aberdeen from Leuchars (St Andrews). Regular bus links into St Andrews (every hour) and onto Dundee.

Pittenweem has a range of small shops: bakery, chemist, post office, general store/supermarket, butchery etc. There are several interesting local pubs and small cafes and restaurants all very close by. The apartment is above a delightul Belgian chocolate shop and cafe. Banks and other facilities (including a Co-op supermarket) in Anstruther, 1 mile along the coast. Further range of shops, supermarkets and facilities in St Andrews and Crail.
