The cottages are in a terrace of 3 all of similar size. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you may need. The shower room is small but adequate. The lounge is cosy with a small TV/DVD. Outside is a communal garden with seating areas. The cottages have beautiful hill views and are situated in the heart of Durness, which is central for the all the beaches and various walks. Fishing in the limestone lochs and golfing on the most northerly course are just a couple of the attractions. Locally the Smoo Caves and Cape Wrath, which have the highest cliffs in Britain, are worth a visit. The scenery is outstanding, it attracts many walkers, botanists, ornithologists, geologists, cyclists, photographers etc. Durness is in the middle of the Geopark which makes it a central position for Munro challengers! The beaches are superb with many surfers trying their luck, or if you prefer just relax on them. Sorry no pets.

There is a double bedroom, at the front, with fitted wardrobes and a chest of drawers. The second bedroom, at the back, has 2 single beds, 2 chest of drawers and a fitted wardrobe. The kitchen is equipped with a cooker, fridge, microwave, washing machine, toaster, electric kettle, and a slow cooker. There are place settings for 4 people, plenty of saucepans, cooking utensils etc. There is a shower room with sink and toilet. The lounge is cosy, with a 3 piece suite, electric fire, TV, dining table, coffee table and occasional lighting. There is a communal garden with seating areas outside overlooking the hills. |

Notes on accommodation
The cottages are all electric which is feed by a coin meter. This takes £1 coins and costs approx £10 per week. The hot water is by immersion. Sheets are provided but towels are by request for an extra charge.
Accessibility
Cottages are accessed by steps and through a fairly narrow door and hallway - not recommended for wheelchair users.
Outside
The gardens are communal and are provided with ample seating and drying areas.
Coast/Beach
The most glorious sandy beaches are approx 500 metres away.
Golf
The Durness golf club is 1.5 miles away. It has 9 holes one of which goes over the Atlantic Ocean, quite exciting!
Travel
The nearest airport is Inverness which is 110 miles away and 3 hours travelling time.
Distances
The village is 0.25 mile, Smoo Cave 0.5 mile, Cape Wrath 15 miles.
Further details
There are two grocery shops, two pubs and two other restaurants in the vicinity.

On booking 50% of the weekly cost is payable immediately and the further 50% is due 4 weeks before you arrive.
