Modernised traditional crofters cottage offering comfortable accommodation set in a beautiful elevated position overlooking sea and mountains. It is set 3 miles from Laide in Wester Ross, 75 miles from Inverness and is ideally situated for hill walking, mountaineering and coastal pursuits. The stunning golden beach of Gruinard Bay is only 5 minutes away. The house sits in large informal gardens, with ample car parking and the accommodation briefly comprises sitting room, with DVD player and open fire, recently modernised dining kitchen, sun porch overlooking the bay, 2 bedrooms and bathroom with shower over the bath. There is a summer house with garden furniture and a BBQ for outdoor cooking. The house retains it's original character but the modernisation has resulted in a warm, cosy and relaxed environment. Whilst there isn't any TV reception, there is a wide range of DVDs, as well as CDs and books.

Saturday is changeover day, with departure by 10am. Arrival from 2pm onwards.

Living Rooms: Comfortable sitting room, with sofa and 2 arm chairs. TV (DVDs only). Open fire with coal provided.
Other: Sun porch with seating and small table.

Cleaning once a week on a Saturday. Linen and towels included in the rental price. Electricity charges included.

Notes on accommodation
There are electric heaters in all the rooms as well as an open fire in the sitting room. Please note that the rental prices for October reflect the fact that fuel / electricity are included.

Due to the steep open sided stairs, great care should be taken if you have young children.

Accessibility
This property is not suitable for people with mobility problems due to the steep stairs.

Outside
Summer house with outdoor furniture. BBQ. Extensive garden with benches to sit and enjoy the views over Gruinard bay and the mountains of Wester Ross and Sutherland.

Coast/Beach
Gruinard beach is 5 minutes drive away. There are many more fantastic beaches all around the coast including Mellon Udrigle (15 minutes) Inverasadale (30 minutes) Gairloch (30 minutes)

Gairloch 9 Hole Golf Course 30 minutes away.

Travel
90 minutes from Inverness Airport. Use of car essential.

Distances
Laide (local shop, newspapers and petrol/post office) 3 miles.
Aultbea (local shop, two bars and restaurant) 5 miles.
Gairloch (shops, bank bars and restaurants) 30 minutes.
Ullapool (shops, restaurants and ferry to Stornaway) 45 minutes.
Poolewe (Inverewe Gardens, shop, cafe) 20 minutes

Further details
The house is ideally placed for hill walking. You can walk from the house, or there are many walks of differing lengths and complexity, all around, either along coastal paths, or into the Wester Ross wilderness behind the house.

An Teallach and other Munroes are close to hand for climbers.

There are sea trips from both Ullapool and Gairloch to see wildlife including Dolphins and Porpoises.

Booking notes
10% non-returnable deposit at time of booking. Balance due 6 weeks before start of holiday. A security deposit of £100 is required, which, if there isn't any damage, will be refunded in full.
