Guest comments
"Nice apartment in the middle of town so close to shops and a good pub across the road. The apartment is over 3 floors. It is just right for a small family or a group of friends. Everything we needed was there, very good. James Smith Telford, England"
"We went to Coldstream with our two young children for two family parties. This accommodation was perfect, much easier that all four of us crammed into a hotel room, and the price difference was minimal. Unlike a hotel room, we had a separate living room and a very well equipped kitchen, there was also an iron and ironing board which came in very handy after a 6 hour drive! Kirsty B

About the owner
Mhairi and Ged Browne, have lived in the town for 10 years. You will love Coldstream - its a very traditional town, sitting right next to the River Tweed. You can enjoy lovely walks, then visit one of the many tea rooms in the town. There is a childs play park in the town and Kelso has the nearest family swimming pool. Coldstream is well located to visiting local borders towns eg Kelso, Duns, Melrsoe and Galashiels. The capital City of Edinburgh is only 45 mins/1 hour away. Newcastle around a 1 hour and 15 mins away. We can advise of things to see and visit locally. The fully equipped cottage is an ideal base for a visit to Scotland! Feel free to phone or email any requests or enquiries.

Year purchased: 2007

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
We just love Coldstream it is a really beautiful border town right on the England and Scotland Border. The River Tweed divides the two countries, where there are lovely scenic walks along the riverside. We feel it is one of the most romantic border towns because of its history and its location near the river. The views are spectacular along the River to the Bridge and over to the Cheviot hills in the distance. Civic Week is Coldstream's festivities week, it is usually in August each year. A week of celebrations that includes traditional horse rides, eg. 'The Battle of Flodden' ride with up to 400 horses, fireworks and a torch lit procession. There is a traditional feel, with 'The Coldstreamer"'leading the parades. Coldstream will give you a real taste of Scotland!

Unique benefits of the property
One of the many benefits of staying in the Apartment is it's location. Edinburgh is a short drive away so you visit the city capital or any Scottish Border towns quite easily. It is location is right in the town centre so you can walk to pubs for a meal and to the shops - only a few mins away. The Apartment can sleep 4-6 people eg. a family, 2 couples or a group, and extra beds available on request. The modern kitchen is fully equipped with everything you will need for your stay. The Apartment is on 3 floors so it has a nice spacious feel. There are activities to do within walking distance eg. a visit to the Hirsel Estate which has its own lake, craft shops and golf course. Also the Coldstream Museum with history of the Coldstream Guards. The nearest pool is in Kelso only 10 mins away.
