The apartment, on the first floor, has 2 double bedrooms, an eat-in kitchen, good-sized lounge and bathroom. Because it's constructed within the thick walls of an old church, it's quiet and warm! Bruntsfield shops, banks, cafes and restaurants are an easy walk away as are the bus routes that take you towards the centre of the city and Princes Street. The local, recently restored swimming baths and gym are a 5 minutes' walk.

Coast/Beach
The nearest beaches to Edinburgh are at Cramond and at Portobello, just outside the city centre. Both beaches are easily reached by car, bus or taxi.

Golf
Gullane, Muirfield and North Berwick are all within an hours drive of Edinburgh. Other famous courses which can be reached - and returned from - within a day include St Andrews Old Course and Gleneagles.
If you are looking for local golf courses, you can play on one of Edinburgh's many public courses, including Bruntsfield Links (just around the corner), Braid Hills, Craigentinny and Silverknowes.

Skiing
The Pentland Hill's dry ski slopes are about 15 minutes' drive away.

Special interest holidays
Close to theatres, galleries (Scottish National Gallery, Scottish Academy, National Portrait Gallery), museums (National Museum of Scotland), book stores, and great shopping.

Travel
Close by, regular bus services run to the centre of town. The main rail station, where there is also the terminus for the Edinburgh airport shuttle bus, is 25 minutes walk away (or 10 minutes in a taxi). Edinburgh airport is about 15 miles away.
The apartment is within the City of Edinburgh parking restricted zone; however metered street parking is available.

Glasgow city centre is a 50 minute train ride away.
