Self-catering accommodation in Turkey with holiday villas and apartments for rental in Sakarya
Sakarya self-catering holiday villas are located in and around a small town in the Sakarya Province not far from the Black Sea in the Marmara region. The ski resort on the Kartepe mountain is just ten minutes away from a holiday apartment in Sakarya making it a great place to stay for winter sports away from the rush and crowds of the piste itself. Equally, in the summer, this mountain region offers mountain biking, walking, trekking, cycling, horse riding, as well as more leisurely pursuits like swimming in the lakes, relaxing on the lake beach and some excellent restaurants to eat in. Everything you need for picnics, barbecues or just relaxing in your villa in Sakarya can be found in the town of Sapanca just a few minutes away; there are banks, supermarkets and other local shops.
If you want the sea then the beaches of the Black Sea are no more than a forty minute drive away from a Sakarya holiday rental. If you want a more urban experience then Istanbul is about the same distance from an apartment in Sakarya with so much to see and do it would make a very long, but pleasurable day out; the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, the Grand Bazaar and Topkapi Palace are just a very few of the historic sights you shouldn’t miss. If you are visiting a Sakarya villa during the winter then Uludag is well worth a visit. It is the tallest mountain in northwest Turkey, a national park and a fabulous ski resort.
Weather
Due to the proximity of the Black Sea you can expect to enjoy an Oceanic climate while staying in a Sakarya rental accommodation; this means warm but not excessively hot summers and mild winters.
Best time to visit
If you want to enjoy the lakes and outdoor pursuits then the summer is probably the best time to visit a holiday villa in Sakarya; for skiing and winter sports then December through to the end of February is good.
Reaching Sakarya
The closest airport to Sakarya holiday villas and apartments is Istanbul’s Sabiha Gökçen Internatinal Airport which is about 83 kilometres easy drive away.
