Newly decorated cottage on the outskirts of the small town of Zarnesti, thus giving surroundings of farm and forests yet easy access to facilities of a bank and local stores. There is a large Sunday market with local cheeses and fresh fruit and vegetables. Medieval Brasov is 40 minutes away on the train with all modern amenities and Poiana Brasov Ski Resort is a similar distance. The joys of Zarnesti are its rural walks, mountain treks and abundance of wild life and flora. There are beauty spots for picnics, mountain cafes and stunning views of the Carpathian Mountains. Local meals can be organised if you want a rest from catering! Bucharest airport is roughly three hours by car (we can organise a meet and greet car for you), or try the train and see the picturesque countryside on your journey. There are opportunities for drama workshops and Gipsy dance performances too. We can organise social programme (ask for sample itinery) or book a guide or horse cart outing.

There is a special price for holiday lets of more than 14 days; summer prices 10% discount, rest of year 15% discount.
You may also try for a 'last minute' reduced price if there are gaps in the calendar.
Changeover day
Changeover day is flexible in the spring and summer months, but is usually Saturday October - March

Towels and all bed linen are included, the property is cleaned and linen changed once a week. Additional laundry and cleaning service is available. |

There is a baby/child minding service provided with CRB checked mature carer. Children's activities such as painting, drama and crafts are available. All these services incur a small extra charge.

Accessibility
The property has two steps up to the front door and a step from the hall into the sitting room.
Outside
There is a small pretty garden with patio-terrace and sun-lounger, barbecue (and gazebo in hot weather)
Skiing
Poiana Brasov is listed as one of the main internatinal ski resorts. We have also seen extraordinary wild life there! It is 40 minutes away by car. There are also mountain walks in the area and several large mountain restaurants and bars.
Special interest holidays
We have Drama and Gypsy dance classes available and also a course in Indian cooking.
We can also organise your barbecue party.
Travel
Bucharest Otopeni airport is approximately three hours away. Car hire is available at the airport or we can arrange to meet you and bring you to Zarnesti. There are local buses, trains and taxis into Brasov so car hire is not essential.
Distances
The Medieval walled city of Brasov is 40 minutes away with its famous black church and evening concerts. Brasov has a wide range of restaurants, shops and cinemas.
Bran Castle, made famous by Dracula stories is just 20 minutes away, and has a craft market and cafes.
You may just wish to walk or trek to the mountain villages or forests.
You have plenty of choice on this Transylvanian holiday!
Further details
Zarnesti has a bank, a choice of fresh food shops, hardware stores, clothing and furniture stores. The Town Hall has storks nesting on the chimney! There is a clinic and local hospital
If you want more large scale shopping then Metro and Selgros cash & carry suprmarkets are half an hour away by car.
However the produce in Zarnesti is mostly locally produced. The cheeses are unique to this area, and milk and eggs come straight from the farm.
Booking notes
You may reserve your booking by email, having first checked that the time is free on our calendar. You need to provide names of the people coming on holiday and ages of any children. You will need to pay a holding deposit of £100 (non-returnable), and the balance no less than 2 weeks before you travel. Any additional payments for classes, child minding and so on can be paid when you arrive, (cash in euros). All breakages and damage must be paid for.
