Changeover day
Changeover days are flexible. Check-in and out times are usually 2pm and 10am respectively. Arrangements can be made at reception for earlier arrivals and later departures.

Bedrooms:
The bedroom has a king size bed, fitted wardrobe and access to a large balcony with sea views, air-conditioned.
Cots and highchairs are available to hire if required.
Bathrooms:
The bathroom has bath/shower over, vanity unit and WC.
Kitchen:
The fully fitted kitchen has a door leading to the main balcony, granite work surfaces, cooker and ceramic hob, fridge freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave and toaster.
Living Rooms:
The very large air conditioned lounge has a dinning table with 6 chairs, three piece suite (sofa converts to a double bed) TV, DVD, satellite receiver, stereo system. The lounge leads onto a fully furnished balcony.

A weekly maid service's bath towels, hand towels and linen are provided. Guests provide their own beach towels.

Important notes on accommodation
There is a multi-purpose sports area with tennis (coaching available), a multi-sports court and children’s play area. Horse riding, water sports, golf and sea fishing can all be arranged. The resort has secure underground parking with reserved spaces for residents, serviced by a lift to the apartment and 24 hour reception with helpful staff on hand. We have a no-smoking policy inside the apartment. The apartment is full air-conditioned and has underfloor heating for your comfort. Estrela de Luz is family friendly resort with a children’s club in peak season and use of a sister resort in the area.

The apartment has good wheelchair access, a lift is available to the main apartment entrance.
Outside
2 south facing balconies - one very large balcony off the bedroom suitable for private sunbathing, a smaller terrace off the kitchen and living room is furnished with table and chairs and is ideal for outside dining. The resort consists of 2 outdoor communal pools, plus a children’s paddling pool, lovely large heated indoor pool with sauna and jacuzzi. Both outdoor pools have poolside bars offering a takeaway service. There is a state of the art gym and multi-purpose all weather surface sports area suitable for football, volleyball and basketball. Tennis courts are also available at which professional coaching can be booked.
Coast/Beach
The apartment is 5 min walk from the smart promenade and lovely sandy beaches at Praia de Luz, one of the best beaches in the Algarve. It’s sheltered by magnificent sandstone cliffs with spectacular cliff walks and edged by several rock pools. There is a wide range of water sport activities, stylish beachside cafes, restaurants and bars available.
Golf
Estrela da Luz has three fold courses in the immediate area. Guests can take advantage of discounted rates. Boavista is a 5 min drive, it is an 18 hole, par 72 with driving range. The famous Palmares course is a 15 min drive, it is an 18 hole, par 71, also with a driving range. Both courses are serviced by the resort shuttle bus. Pargue do Floresta is mere 20 min drive, 18 holes, par 72, a PGA academy. Finally Penina is a 20 min drive, this is an 18 hole, par 73.
How to get there
Direct flights are available from most UK and Irish airports to Faro. Flying time 2½ - 3 hours. Faro airport is 50 min drive on the new A22 motorway. A train service operates from Faro to Lagos. Car hire can be arranged in the airport or in Luz Alternatively, transfers can be arranged if you prefer and with local buses and taxis available in Luz centre, you do not need a car.
Distances
Estrela de Luz is close to the centre of the beautiful Praia de Luz, the large beach, local supermarket and range of shops, cafes and restaurants are all within 5-10 min walk of the apartment. Luz itself is the gateway to the less populated village resorts and beaches of the western Algarve. 5km east is the town of Lagos with its 7 mile Meia Praia and beautiful Dona Ana beaches and marina together with a wide range of shops, restaurants and bars.
Further Details
Praia de Luz has a cinema, bank and English speaking medical practices and post office. Other family attractions nearby include a zoo marina, water parks, crazy golf, horse riding and Lagos zoo. Inland are the mountains of Monchique and to the west, Sagres and Cape St Vincent, the most south western points of mainland Europe. Lisbon and Seville are a 3 hour car journey.

A non-refundable deposit of 20% is required at the time of booking. Balance is paid 6 weeks prior to arrival by cheque or bank transfer.

Comments: This is the best holiday accommodation we have ever stayed in. We are a family with two daughters aged 13 and 8 and we all loved this place. the complex has two large outdoor pools, an indoor pool and Jacuzzi, gymnasium, yoga classes, pool side bar/restaurants with lovely food, full restaurant - you need never leave the resort –
BUT Luz village and beach are is only five minutes walk away, charming little streets, lots of restaurants and fab sandy beach. And if that's not enough.... Lovely Lagos town (free bus from Estrela) is nearby, and down the coast are some really wild surfing beaches. We will definitely be back!!! You can book with Oceanico resorts or directly with owners, as we did, which is better value.
