Sleeps 2. Front-line air-conditioned/heated apartment with fabulous views of the Ria Formosa and the sea beyond. On the first floor (with lift) of a small block, only a few paces from the water’s edge. Balcony with uninterrupted coastal views. This is a compact flat which is perfect for two. The decor is light and cool with terracotta floors and natural fabrics. Comfortable 3ft twin beds - superb mattresses and large soft pillows ensure a good night's sleep. There's also a comfortable sofa and two easy chairs, tv/dvd/cd/radio, books/dvds. A carefully designed mini-kitchen offers everything you need for basic meals at home - or you can sample the excellent local restaurants, cafes and bars which are 3 minutes' level walk from your front door. The seafront of Cabanas village is where you'll find simply everything you need. The boat trip to the long white sandy beach across the lagoon costs €1.50 return. You don't even need a car!

The apartment is suitable for the elderly, but not for children due to the balcony. No pets please. Situated on the first floor with lift. There is a smoke alarm fitted and a fire blanket is provided. A Vodafone Mobile Broadband Internet USB pen is provided for guests who bring their own laptops. Charge is €1 per hour. Smokers are requested to smoke only on the Balcony.
Accessibility
Free off-road parking right outside the building entrance. Level walk to main door of building (no steps - one shallow ramp). Lift (or stairs) to first floor. Apartment on one level. Doorways not wide enough for wheelchairs.
Outside
Looking for peace and quiet? In this part of Cabanas there is no Resort noise and no traffic - yet it's only a three minute stroll to the lively village. The apartment's private balcony overlooks the lawn, the Ria Formosa, and the Atlantic Ocean beyond. Relaxing here you won't see a car or a power line - only sea-birds, fishing boats and pleasure craft. Balcony furniture comprises teak table, two teak armchairs with cushions. Out of the main door and you can stroll over the lawn of the communal gardens which surround the apartment block on four sides. A few steps will bring you to the waterside where the locals dig for mussels and clams. Another hundred metres or so and you come to the smart Boardwalk of Cabanas village and an enormous choice of restaurants and cafes to suit all budgets.
Coast/Beach
Ria Formosa waterside - 30 seconds walk. Cabanas de Tavira seafront boardwalk - 3 minutes walk. Cabanas Beach - 7km of sandy beach with the warmest waters in the Algarve - a 3 minute water bus from the boardwalk.
Golf
5 excellent local golf courses: 5 minutes' drive - Benamor. 10 minutes' drive - Quinta Da Ria & Quinta da Cima. 15 minutes' drive - Monte Rei. 20 minutes' drive - Castro Marim.
Travel
Nearest airport (35Km) is Faro. Seville (Spain) Airport is 150Km. Airlines flying from the UK and Ireland include Easyjet, Ryanair, Jet2, Monarch, British Airways, Aer Lingus, BMIbaby, British Midland, Flybe, Thomas Cook & Thomson. Midweek flight prices are often more economical. Pre-booked Taxi can meet you at the airport - ask me for details. Car not necessary, but easy off road parking available at the apartment building, should you decide to hire one.
Distances
Local bus stop is 30 seconds' walk from the apartment -daily bus (not Sunday) to Tavira. Conceição de Tavira - train and bus services - 5 minutes by car. The historic riverside town of Tavira is 10 minutes by car. Drive to Ayamonte in Spain via bridge or ferry - 20 minutes to the border. Driving to or from Spain over the bridge - the new tolls can be avoided by leaving or joining the motorway at junction 17. Any tolls due can be paid at a post office or payshop - for help please ask me.
Further details
A paradise for nature lovers: Excellent walking, birdwatching, photography and cycling can be found in the immediate area. Boat trips, fishing and dolphin-spotting all available. Bicycles can be rented locally, or prebooked and delivered to the flat - we are happy to assist with this. I'm happy to provide any more information you need to help plan your visit. A 20% deposit is payable on reservation. The remaining 80% is payable 4 weeks before arrival. Cancellations: 6 weeks prior to arrival: 90% refund. 4-6 weeks prior to arrival: 50% refund. 2-4 weeks prior to arrival: 25% refund.
less than 2 weeks prior to arrival: no refund (unless we are able to relet the accommodation). Damage deposit £100 payable. Returnable by bank transfer within 48 hours of your departure.
