Notes on prices
If a booking is made for the Summer before the end of March with deposit in the bank, 10% discount will be given on total price. Also long booking over 1 month, a special price can be arrange, telephone the owner please.
Changeover day
Saturdays & Wednesdays, were possible. You may stay by the pool & use the shower & changing rooms in the main house if your flight leaves late. But we have to insist on vacating studios/rooms before 10 & not arriving until after 4 so we can clean.

Self contained no 2 (studio, sleeps 2)

This studio no 2 is the reflection of studio 1 & there is a through door which could be opened if the need for family or friends to share. So we can make the downstairs into a large area which can be organised to suit most parties. There is a dining table for 4 in each studio. Wardrobe and dressing table, small chest, bedside table, small chairs to sit on. Ceiling fan in every studio. Both have hot water heaters & this studio has a large private patio on the east side, overlooking a garden and flower beds. The garden hosts a typical Portuguese BBQ and an 18 century bread oven and we invite you to cook in the old fashion way, slow but delicious. The studio units all have full compliment of cutlery and dishes to feed 4 people, more can be supplied on request. Each individual patio has table and chairs so you may enjoy outside dining. This is a 2 single bed en-suite studio, up stairs on the second floor with galley kitchenette facilities. Microwave with oven, toaster, kettle, hob, sandwich maker, small fridge, plus full compliment of dishes. Sky TV,DVD selection, books. A fully fitted shower room with a hand basin & toilet. 2 balconies with table and chairs and wonderful views. The basic self catering amenities are part of what the studio offers you, but it is smaller and this is reflected in the price. Full linen change and cleaning offered once a week and all towels including beach and pool towels come as part of the package. This is a very comfortable unit. The BBQ is for your use as well, as is the pool and other amenities. This studio is not wheel chair friendly due to the steps you climb to reach it, this studio can be used as a bedroom to sleep older children, relations or friends and all meals taken down stairs in Studio one, should you feel so inclined. Identical studio unit to no 3, upstairs with 2 balconies at front & side, full shower room, Galley kitchenette, use of the heated pool, BBQ area & garden. 2 single beds, which can be fitted togeher as a large D/B Again this is smaller studio then downstairs & is reflected in the price. We are a non smoking establishment,asking you not to smoke in the studios or villa but we allow smoking out in the garden, but request you use the area & ashtray provided. This studio is not wheelchair friendly. due to it being on the second floor As studio 3 this also has a small balcony at the main entrance & a large one at the front with table & chairs, so a option of two places to sit & eat Theses studios are very cosy, but can also be used as a additional bedroom for a father & mother or young adults, like a upstairs bedroom in a house.We have small portable BBQ which can be used individually in your own garden area.If you love to look at a wonderful view and sunsets this is the studio for you |

Notes on accommodation
Each is totally self contained & private, each with its own front door, patio & garden area. Each studio has a powerful over head fan & being so close to the sea, we get sea breezes. In the winter we supply heaters, which heat the studios quickly; not that we have many cold days. We ask you to contribute to any excessive use of electricity. Each studio has its own electric meter. There is plenty of parking, a car is very useful to expand your holiday. Outside by the heated pool (S & A )l, we have a outside toilet which houses a washing machine, this is for your use. We can purchase for your arrival a 50 euro basic starter food pack which we will leave in your studio, so that if you arrive late or early you will have the essentials to feed the inner man. Please let us know well in advance. We have 3 independent bedrooms. Please enquire. The owners Zena & Richard are always available to help should you need any help or advice; we believe in you having your own space & will not intrude.
Accessibility
We are wheelchair friendly Ramps & easy access are offered where possible. Moncarapacho is 1.6km away, sea & golf 5 min's & points of interest all around us We do not accept children under 10 We stipulate that the use of the pool area follows all health & safety regulations, keep safe while by water, this we would appreciate. as we want you safe, accidents can happen so quickly. Coast/Beach
Nearest beach & islands in 5 Min's drive. Please see our website below where all local beaches have been listed. The choice is amazing, pictures can be seen on our website.www.houseofswallows.com The beaches are unspoilt,fishing & beach sports are close & yoga groups can practice on the white sands. Sea shells collected & a boat trip around the many islands;stop at a deserted beach, catch & eat your lunch straight from the sea & fall asleep in the afternoon sun on the beach, have an adventure?
Golf
There are many championship golf courses with in 20 minute drive. Maragota hosts a 9 hole 5 minutes away.Tavira, Vale de Lobo, Quinta da Lago, Colina. Portugal is a golfers dream. One can drive to the other end of the Algarve in 1 hr 20 Min's, so most golf courses are accessible from Moncarapacho. A new motorway way links the Algarve to Lisbon takes 2 hrs 20 Min's; here you can enjoy the wonderful architecture & sight see until you drop. We go on the train from Faro for the day, relaxing way to travel by eating breakfast & dinner on the train to make an occasion of the day out. The Algarve hosts a small single line railway, which one can enjoy, take a picnic & travel along the Algarve seeing all the views & picturesque villages in land & by the sea, a good day out. We have a local train station based at Fuseta just down the road. Spain,hosts more Golf courses. Go to Savilla where you will find the oldest Gothic cathedral in Europe.Golfers can leave their families by the pool. wifi.

Yoga, Tai Chi, Chi Gong are available for all age groups & standards, in 3 different languages. We are very happy to book theses sessions for you, if you let us know what you would like? Painting classes are available just ask. Do you like photography? The light on the Algarve is incredible you will not see such blue skies anywhere else in the world. A bowls club & outward bound centre are 5 mins
We are based right by the Formosa National park & if your hobby is bird watching or Fauna, this is the place for you. Fuseta is local fishing village has every sort of water sport available & if you just want a trip on a boat this is the place to be. Fresh fish, vegetables & a meat market are in Olhao. Buy your fish straight from the sea and bring it home and BBQ it, your never forget the taste!
Travel
Faro airport is 20 Min's away, a good taxi service can be arranged on request, They come highly recommended door to door service. Seville can be reached by bus or train. Approximately 2 hours to the airport in Seville by car. This Spanish town is well worth a visit. You can even pop to Madrid by plane if you so desire? Go to Europe's end & visit the many markets & buy that bargain Shoes at 5 euros a pair! Car hire is easy & we suggest you pick up a car at the airport on arrival.
Distances
1.6km to Moncarapacho, restaurants, supermarkets, buses, petrol, doctor, dentists, banks, markets and pharmacy, plus many other shops. Tavira a historic town is 6 kil away & fARO town is well worth a visit. The medieval castle of Castrol Marine is so old & during August bank holiday weekend the whole village goes medieval. This is a wonderful experience that I highly recconmend, the festival last 3 days There is now a motor racing track hosts many different forms of car racing.

In our villa. There are 3 very comfortable d/rooms which we let - please enquire. We find that elder relation enjoy being in the villa, joining you in the studio's for meals & daily fun.
Each studio has a full satellite TV system & a DVD with a supply of DVDs to look at.
Our holidays are very alfresco, every thing is easy going, living outside in the open air,by the heated pool; something you can't do the more north you are ?
We like peace & relaxation. We want our guest to unwind, so any loud noises or radios playing are frowned upon; not that we don't like a bit of fun, singing and dancing when the mood presents itself & the time is right !
Where we can we will drop you off & pick you up from the local village if you haven't got a car, especially if you have been shopping, its only 3 mins & we don't mind at all
when you arrive we will help you sort out the places to visit & what you want to do while you are in the Algarve & point you in the right direction to achieve your dreams ? But if its just a tan you want we are the right place to be, the sun loungers & pool will call you very loudly !
The Algarve has a lot to offer & we have many past guest who would be only to happy to recommend us to you. We have made many good friends who return every year.
The house of swallows meets the dream of total relaxation away from stress of any kind. A holiday of peace & quiet, laying in the sun with a typical Portuguise village down the road . Where you can get excellent food at a good price & sit & watch the world go by in the sq at a selection of local bars.
Be entertained by the many fiesta's & local arranged special days, that are arranged locally by our Portuguese residence. Takes you back to days gone by, when life was slow & memories where treasured & to be thankful for. The parade in February, every one joins in, such fun, colourful. The whole experience will make your heart swell; making you feel so good. A different life to experience!

Deposit to secure the booking of 50%. Full payment of all holidays 8 weeks before date of arrival. We have set cancellation rules that we abide too a copy will be sent with your booking. last minuet bookings if we have room are accepted.As long as payment arrives before you do? Taxi and car hire details can be given to you, theses can be arranged on request, please don't leave it to the last minute. As this year cars were in short supply so people were disappointed, don't let it be you?

About the owner
Richard & Zena moved to Portugal from the Caribbean just over 6 years ago.They found the House of Swallows after searching the Algarve from one end to the other; so the house and grounds are very special to them. They have lived in warm countries before & on retirement they didn't relish the thought of going back to cold wet England & as Zena had had a couple of lovely holidays in Portugal in the early 90's & found the climate superior in the Algarve to the that of other places; they moved to Moncarapacho & have not regretted a moment. Going forward to modernising the House of Swallows to what it is today! They want to share this special place with all the stressed, tired & overworked people out there. They have experienced this themselves & know that the answer is rest & peace;to recharge

The House of Swallows is situated up a track in a unspoilt valley, with a back drop of a hills; near the small Portuguese town of Moncarapacho, where life goes on at a slow relaxed pace. Not a bit commercial in any way The 4/5 excellent inexpensive restaurants one can chose to eat when the mood takes serve wonderful food. We love the area because it offers all that we were looking for, spectacular views, peace & quiet, a garden with a swimming pool, loads of fruit trees and room to grow our own vegetable, plus 5 mins from some of the most spectacular beaches the world has to offer; where one can find a place away from the crowd & most of all the lack of crime, one feels so safe.
We have full-filled a dream, a dream that many have but never obtain, so let us share it with you.
