This luxury 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom first floor apartment has been quality furnished as a 'home from home' and includes two additional 'double sized' sofa beds in the lounge which are suitable for children. The sheltered main balcony overlooks the expansive private landscaped garden area which is reserved for the exclusive use of Vila Sol residents and guests. There are 3 large pools (one is heated), children's pools, a jacuzzi and a restaurant/bar in the private grounds. The resort has an adjacent 27 hole championship golf course and a nearby beach with beach bar (5 minutes drive away). Superb restaurants and a well stocked supermarket are within walking distance and Vilamoura Marina is only a 10 minute drive away. The apartment benefits from a private underground car parking space (ideal for keeping your car cool in the summer). Just 20 minutes away from Faro airport. There is also a fantastic water park with water slides and wave machine just 1km away. This is a non-smoking apartment.

Changeover day
Changeover day is flexible. We can often provide an 8 day break for the same price as 7 nights to enable you to get the best flight deals.

Notes on accommodation
There is air-conditioning in the lounge and both bedrooms which can be used (reversed) to heat the apartment if the weather is cooler.
Free internet access is available at the Vila Sol guest services office. Free Wi-Fi access is available at the Deli France or Oscar's Bar near the Vila Sol Spa.
Accessibility
First floor access is via the lifts or stairs, either from the ground floor entrance lobby or from the underground car park. Wheel chair access is best from the garage to the first floor using the lifts.
Outside
The landscaped grounds are accessible through locked gates thus ensuring security and privacy. There are 3 swimming pools (one heated), childrens' pools, a jacuzzi and a poolside restaurant/bar for guests. Balcony furniture includes a table, 4 chairs and two sun loungers. There is an additional balcony off one of the rear bedrooms for afternoon sun-seekers. Guests benefit from 'owner' discounts for use of the resort facilities including reduced green fees on the championship 27 hole golf course, access to the luxurious spa, a kids club, tennis courts and discounts in the resorts 5-star hotel restaurants. There is now a supermarket and Bank with an ATM on the Vila Sol site plus adjacent bars and restaurants (including Oscar´s and a Deli France).
Coast/Beach
The Vilamoura and Quarteira beaches are a 5 minute drive away. The beautiful resorts of Vale do Lobo and Quint do Lago are also 15 minutes away whilst the sandy Islands near Tavira are well worth the 30 minute drive.
Golf
The exclusive 150 hectare Vila Sol Spa and Golf Resort boasts a fabulous 27-hole 'Donald Steel' championship golf course. This course has hosted the Portugese Open twice and consists of three loops of varying difficulty (Prime, Challenge and Prestige). Guests enjoy a 30% discount on green fees. There are many other magnificent and challenging golf courses nearby in Vilamoura, Vale do Lobo and Quinta Do Lago.
Travel
Vila Sol village is only 20-25 minutes (20km) away from Faro International Airport. A taxi can be hired from the airport (approximately 30 Euros). There are several reputable and reasonable car hire companies at the airport which can be booked locally or in advance over the internet. Car hire (with air-conditioning) is recommended.
Distances
Vilamoura and Marina 2km; Vale do Lobo and Quinta do Lago 10-12km; Albufeira 12km; Silves 30km; Lisbon 200km. The Aqua park is a 3 minute drive.

Booking notes
Prices are shown for the property per week in UK Pounds. 30% non-refundable deposit is required on booking with the balance due 6 weeks prior to arrival. Late bookings (within 6 weeks of travel) require the full amount to be paid. An additional £200 will be required with the final payment as damage/breakage security. This will be refunded within 10 days of final departure. Discounts are available for bookings over 3 weeks in length or long winter lets.

About the owner
Beverley and Ian live in England with their two boys aged 6 and 10. We enjoy holidaying abroad and have really taken to Portugal and the Algarve. The Portuguese are extremely friendly and the flight time from the UK isn't too long, with reasonably priced flights available from many UK airports and other European airports.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
We have several friends who have apartments in Vila Sol. After renting there ourselves we decided to 'take the plunge' and purchased our own property in 2007.
The Vila Sol complex is very family friendly with secured gated garden areas with large expanses of grassed areas for the children to play in, plus the three well maintained pool areas. The airport at Faro is only 20-25 minutes away and the local beaches and Vilamoura Marina are less than 10 minutes by car or taxi.
Unique benefits of the property
Our property benefits from secure underground car parking, which is really great as it keeps the car cool in the heat of the summer months.
The property is extremely well maintained and furnished to a high standard.
We keep a travel cot and high chair in the apartment which are available at no extra cost.
