No detail has been forgotten when furnishing our 2nd home which bathes in sunshine throughout the day. Private 54sq.m terrace with beautiful panoramic views of the sea and Monchique mountains and overlooking the pool, or inside the 108sq.m apartment. There is a seasonal communal swimming pool with private poolside bar. You are a 15 minute walk from the unspoilt beaches of Praiha do Vau and of the town of Alvor. If you are a golfer, Alto Golf Course is only a 3 minute drive away. Many other golf courses within a short drive away. Changeover days are flexible - book when it suits you best! And, our most helpful property manager will meet with you the keys and show you around the apartment.

Utility Room: There is a built-in washing machine in the kitchen. Plenty of hanging racks outside which can be moved inside if needed. Cleaning supplies provided.
Living Rooms: Large dining room with seating for 6 people. Living room with FREE high speed and computer. Satellite TV, DVD player, 150+ DVD movies, stereo equipment with CD player, air-conditioning/heating and pull-out sofabed. Over 200 popular books for you to enjoy.
Other: All upscale furnishings and very well maintained. Granite breakfast bar, Stained glass windows, upgraded area rugs, and fully furnished kitchen with ample cooking and serving supplies. Staples included in kitchen ie. oils, seasonings, flour, sugar etc.

All linen for bed, bath and kitchen are provided. Please bring own beach/pool towels. Final cleaning upon departure. The only complaint we have ever had is that the photos don't do justice to the upscale furnishings and views.

5 minutes drive Penina Championship Golf Course.
5 minutes drive Alto Golf.
15 minutes drive Palmares Golf Club.
20 minutes drive Pinta and Gramacho at Carvoeiro.
10 minutes drive Quinta do Morgardo.

Travel
Approximately a 45 minute drive from Faro airport and 2 - 2.5 hour drive from Lisbon airport.

For freedom and flexibility car hire is a tremendous benefit. If you would like to hire a car you will need a full driver's licence held for over a year and you must be at least 21 years of age. The best way to hire a car is at either airport. Car parking is available in front of the apartments.

Distances
Seville, Spain and Lisbon are only a 2 hour drive.

Further details
The quaint fishing village of Alvor is located between 2 large towns: Portimao and Lagos. The village has many bars with live music and different types of restaurants and pubs. Many restaurants are within a 5/10 minute walk. Shops of all sorts can be found throughout. Water sports are available on the beach e.g. sail boats, windsurfing and waterbikes.

Booking notes
Discounts available for early bookings, late bookings and bookings of two weeks or longer. Please contact owner for details. A £100 deposit is required to hold the reservation. The balance of the rent plus a refundable damage deposit of £100 is required 60 days prior to your arrival. We will arrange for our property manager to meet you in Alvor to give you the keys, show you the apartment and answer any questions you might have. The refundable damage deposit returned within 2-3 weeks.

What a fabulous place for a vacation! Our first time in Portugal, and what a wonderful country and place to stay. It was perfect for the 2 couples with the layout of the bedrooms and baths at opposite ends. All the facilities are 1st class from the fridge to the stove to dishwasher and clothes washer - you couldn't ask for more. The views from the huge terrace is breathtaking & short walk to beach. About the owner
We live just outside Toronto, Canada and have 4 children and 6 grandchildren (all under 6 years old)! We are now both retired - I was formerly a Special Education Teacher and my husband, Mike, was in Retail Management. We have always kept ourselves busy with Property ownership and management also. My husband and I chose The Algarve as our 2nd home because people are helpful and kind, it is safe and the food and beaches are out of this world! We have made some wonderful friendships.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
The Algarve has terrific weather year round and our apartment is just 15 mins walk to the fabulous beaches and village with amazing restaurants. You can drive up to Monchique Mountains for a leisurely Sunday lunch with the locals or walk to the Alvor and have fabulous fish or seafood in one of the many great restaurants. Alvor village also has many pubs and cafes! Most anything that you want is just a short walk away. You may wish to just soak up the sunshine by the pool or on our huge private terrace - BBQing one of the many fishes caught locally and have some fabulous Portuguese wine! Seville and Lisbon are only a 2 hour drive away.

We also have a collection of over 100 popular books and 200+ DVD movies. . . anything to make your stay in our "home-away-from-home" more comfortable. When we go to visit, we really enjoy sitting on the terrace with views of the ocean and Monchique Mountains. There's sun all day but you can also sit under the umbrella, if you wish. One comment that we get time and time again -"we didn't expect your apartment to be this nice! We will definitely be back!" And. . . many families and couples have come back time and time again.
