Prices are in pounds sterling per week.
Air-conditioning/heating is available in the lounge and master bedroom at an extra charge of £1.50 each room per day.
Rentals of more than 2 weeks receive 5% discount and rentals of more than 4 weeks receive 10% discount. Short-term rentals of less than 7 days are available - contact owner for prices. Special offers are available for late vacancy bookings.
Changeover day
Preferred changeover day is Saturday, but this is flexible. Check-in time is 2.30 pm and departure is by 10am in order to give the cleaning service time to thoroughly clean the apartment for the incoming guests.

Outside
The apartment has 2 private terraces with patio furniture and a shared roof terrace. The two pool areas have sunbeds and sunshades, and like the tennis court and health club are only a short walk from the apartment. There is a restaurant with inside and outside dining adjacent to the larger pool, which also has a poolside bar. There is ample safe parking. Guests may book day excursions, arrange car and bike rental or order taxis at the Complex reception office.
Coast/Beach
There are many beaches to choose from within a short driving distance. They are considered among the best in Europe, yet remain fairly uncrowded. Ilha de Tavira beach is accessed by a delightful short ferry trip from Tavira town, and Barril beach by walking or alternatively a short miniature train ride from Pedras d’El Rei. Manta Rota beach is also nearby and has extensive parking and restaurants.
Golf
A round of golf on the top quality courses nearby is typically 30% cheaper than in other areas of the Algarve:
- Benamor, 4km from Tavira Garden: 5,500 m, par 71. Ranked in the top 10 courses in Europe, and laid out among groves of trees on the lower slopes of the northern hills, with fine ocean views.
- Quinta da Ria, 7km: 6110 metres, par 72. Quinta da Ria also has splendid coastal and inland views. A flatter course, with greens protected by an array of bunkers and lakes.
- Quinta de Cima, 7km: 6,256 metres, par 72. Voted best course on the Algarve in 2004. A more exacting course than Quinta da Ria.
- Castro Marim, 28km: 5,466 metres, par 72, first phase of a luxury resort. An undulating course set against the hills, with views of the River Guadiana and the Atlantic. Rewards careful forethought and precision.
The first 18 holes of the Monte Rei course (20 minutes’ drive) are due to open in late 2007.
Many other courses in the Western Algarve and Spain are within easy reach.
Travel
Faro airport is approximately 35 kms away. Car hire is recommended for easy travel throughout the region. This is best arranged in the UK before your departure. You can pick up your car at Faro Airport when you arrive, and drop it off there when you leave.
Trains from Tavira station will take you to other parts of Portugal, and buses from Tavira Coach Station cover a wide area, including Seville and other parts of Spain.
Distances
The peaceful hills to the north of the apartment are ideal for walking, with miles of tracks to enjoy. Bird life abounds in the massive Ria Formosa Nature Reserve, and you may wish to explore the nearby fishing villages of Santa Luzia, Cabanas and Fuzeta.

The apartment complex is situated on the northern edge of Tavira town, one of the most elegant and beautiful towns on the Algarve with a history going back to Roman times. A short walk takes guests into the centre of town. Tavira is a delight to explore, with its narrow cobbled streets, castle and many churches, traditional houses and a Roman bridge spanning the River Gilao. There are many sidewalk cafes and restaurants, some along the palm-lined river. There is a daily market selling excellent locally-grown vegetables, meat and freshly caught fish.

We really enjoyed our time in Tavira. The apartment is an absolute gem. We had friends over for lunch - they had rented round the coast. They were really impressed (envious). We also appreciated the proximity of the complex to town. It meant we could easily walk into town for a meal (with drinks!!) and not worry about driving or taxis - Kevin.
We had the most wonderful holiday. The apartment was all we had hoped for and more. What an attractive little place Tavira is, and with some wonderful restaurants. Weather was brilliant. I have already given your information to friends who want to visit next year - Pete & Anne.
