This magnificent villa overlooks the fifth fairway on the exclusive Praia D'el Rey Golf and Beach Resort. It has 4 large bedrooms, all with individual en-suite facilities. There is a balcony off the master suite with beautiful views over the golf course and towards the sea. The large lounge and dining area are comfortably furnished and with seating for at least eight people. There is also a flat screen TV with UK digital channels and a DVD player. The villa has some unusual features including an internal garden and separate games area which is great for younger guests.

Notes on prices
A non-refundable deposit of £250 per week booked secures your reservation.
In addition a damage deposit of £200 is required at the time when the balance of the rental amount is due. This will be returned within 14 days of departure, after the OK from our local management.
Changeover day
Changeover day in 2012 is Friday during holiday season when flights are usually cheaper. Some flexibilty may be possible. Guests are asked to vacate the villa by 10.30am on the day of departure to allow time for cleaning.

All linen, bath and hand towels are included, but not towels for the beach. The property is cleaned before and after lettings and once per week for lettings of more than one week. Extra cleaning and linen changes can be arranged at additional cost. |

Very young children will need supervision around the pool area.
Accessibility
Whilst there is no special provision for people with mobility problems, wheelchair access is possible to all downstairs areas, which include one double and one twin bedroom both with en-suite facilities, the pool, kitchen, and living/dining room.
Outside
The private pool is approx 10m. x 5m surrounded by decking and adjacent to a sheltered covered area well suited to outdoor dining. The garden has a grass area at the rear and is well planted with a variety of local flowering bushes and trees. Outside equipment includes sun loungers, deck chairs, barbecue, plus table and chairs.
Coast/Beach
The nearest beach is an easy 5 minutes walk. Like all of the beaches in the area it boasts a huge expanse of beautiful sand and is seldom busy. The Atlantic surf can be powerful and there are great surfing destinations nearby. For more sheltered bathing there are calm waters on Obidos Lagoon, a large sheltered expanse of water which also has dinghy sailing, fishing, wind and kite surfing.
Golf
The championship golf course at Praia del Rey has been rated one of the best in Europe. Part links and part parkland, it is a good test of golf but not too hard to be intimidating. The views over the Atlantic are very special and will always lift the spirit. Other courses nearby are Bom Successo about 10 mins away by car, Golden Eagle (Quinta de Brincal) 25 mins drive away and Campo Real about 45 mins. Further courses near Lisbon, including Penha Longa, Riba Golf (2 courses), Belas, , Oitavos Golfe and Beloura, are all close enough for a day out.
Travel
Lisbon airport is about 50 mins by motorway. Porto is about 2hrs 30 mins. Although taxis are available, a car is strongly recommended and reasonably priced car rental is freely available at the airports. It is best booked in advance through one of the rental agencies.
Distances
There are several villages good for local shopping and eating within 3-5 miles with Serra Del Rey being the closest. Peniche with its restaurants, supermarkets and fish/vegetable markets is about 8 miles. The 16th century walled town of Obidos is a similar distance and has several restaurants and a good supermarket. The town of Caldas da Rainha is about 10 miles and has the largest shopping centre in the area. There are also a range of interesting places to visit with an hour's drive.
Further details
There is plenty to do on the resort besides the golf and lovely beaches. The resort has a tennis centre with 8 hard courts and equipment for hire. The Adventure Club provides a programme of activities in the summer months for ages up to 16, including canoeing, surfing, cycling, quad biking. It also has indoor games facilities. There is also a small children's' playground for toddlers.
Further afield there is plenty to see and do. The clubhouse has a good restaurant and meals can also be ordered in the bar. Many local restaurants offer good food and excellent value.
Booking notes
Communication with the owner is best by email initially. A non-refundable deposit of £250 per week booked is required to confirm your booking, with the balance to be paid 6 weeks before departure. A returnable damage deposit of £200 is also required with the balance.

We enjoy travelling but now spend as much time in Praia del Rey as we can. When you have been there you will probably understand why.
Why the owner chose a home in this location
We fell in love with the resort for the golf and fantastic beaches but beyond it you can still enjoy the welcome and beauty of the 'real' Portugal.
Unique benefits of the property
We bought the villa in 2011 and have newly equipped and furnished it as our home. It has some unusual features including the internal garden that makes it very light and airy. We hope you will love it as much as we do.
