Casa Jan is a substantial 4 bedroom villa set in its own grounds of 4,000 sq mts in a small, pretty village near to the walled city of Lagos. Spacious and comfortable and has a large 11 x 7m swimming pool with plenty of room for children to play. The central location makes this an ideal starting point to explore the western Algarve with the beautiful coast within minutes and Silves and Monchique only 30 minutes away. The airport at Faro is only 55 minutes on very quick roads.

Prices are per property per week in UK Pounds.
The villa can accommodate up to 10, however the prices are for 8 + 1 child. Each extra person may incur some cost. Will discuss for extra children. We offer reductions for long winter lets.
Changeover day
Preferred changeover day is Saturday, but we can be flexible.

Notes on accommodation
Welcome on arrival. Safe for valuables. Large selection of books. Cot and highchair are available. Central heating in winter included. Air conditioning in the master bedroom.
Accessibility
The villa is on one level and wheelchair accessable. Only the sun-terrace on the roof has a stairway. All corridors and rooms can accommodate a wheelchair. There is a step between the bedrooms and the living area.
Outside
Enclosed, private gardens of 4,000 sq ms. Large covered terrace and other patios. Charcoal BBQ. Sun loungers and several garden tables with 12 chairs. Large swimming pool 11 x 7 metres with outdoor shower and diving board. External steps lead to sun terrace with exceptional views of the area.
Coast/Beach
A 5 minute drive takes you to Meia Praia (5km of beach) or Praia Dona Anna. 15 minutes to Praia da Luz. All have golden sand and facilities. There are quiet beaches at Burgau and the west coast ideal for surfing or diving.
Golf
For golfers there are 5+ courses very close and further 5 within 25 minutes drive. Palmeres and Boa Vista within 10 minutes, Penina, Parque de Floresta and Alvor within 20 minutes. Penina is the course used for the Portuguese Open. Boavista is a beautiful course looking over the cliffs at Luz to the sea as is Palmeres at Meia Praia. Travel
Faro airport is 55 minute drive. Car hire is essential. We can suggest a local company to meet you at the airport.
Distances
It is 2 km to Lagos which has all the facilities of supermarkets, restaurants or cash points that you may need. Lagos is a walled city of great interest. There are water parks - Slide and Splash is excellent value, zoo-marine for dolphin shows and Zoo Lagos is nearby.
Further details
The new F1 racing track and motorbike circuit (aerodromo) is 15km away and takes about 20 minutes to get to.
Booking notes
A non-refundable deposit of 20% is payable on booking with the balance paid by May 1st. The pool, garden and the maid services are maintained twice a week. All linen supplied except beach towels.

About the owner
I have lived in the Algarve since 2000 after retiring from being an overworked industrialist. I enjoy the pool and garden in particular, especially after a warm and balmy day at the beach. Erin and I look forward to meeting you on arrival and am sure you will enjoy your stay.
Why the owner chose a home in this location
Sargacal is a small village just outside Lagos and so has easy access to the beaches, the walled city, six golf courses and the F1 race track is only 20 miles away. The village is very quiet and full of Portuguese tradition. It has a small Tasca where the locals go to drink, talk and play traditional games. Lagos has 6 supermarkets and the old town has many boutiques for gifts or clothes. There are so many good and cheap restaurants, it can be difficult to decide where next.
Unique benefits of the property
We have a completely enclosed garden of almost an acre and an unusually large swimming pool (11m by 7m or 36 by 23 feet ) with diving board. There is also a roof terrace of 11m by 7m to do all the sun-bathing away from the children in the pool if wanted. If there should be a grey day, there is a full sized table tennis table and darts board in the separate games room.
