Casa Helandria is situated in a pleasant location together with a few other villas near Quinta da Lago. The sea is about 3 km away through the pinewoods and the villa is only 20 minutes drive from the airport at Faro. There are 3 bedrooms, a lounge and dining area combined with the kitchen. It is set in a mature garden with its own private swimming pool, outside BBQ and eating areas.

Changeover day
Changeover days are flexible, but we do not have changeovers on Sundays. We request that people vacate the Villa by 10.00 and arrive after 3.00 pm to enable Virgilia to clean the villa on changeover days.
Accommodation
| Bedrooms: | There are three twin bedded rooms all with large built in wardrobes containing drawers and plenty of coat hangers. All of the bedrooms are designed for flexibility so that the beds can be pushed together to form a double bed easily. |
| Bathrooms: | The en-suite bathroom has a toilet, bidet, bath and shower as well as two wash basins set in a large marble surround. The second bathroom has a bath and shower combined as well as a wash basin. There is also a safety deposit box in this bathroom. |
| Kitchen: | The kitchen has a gas cooker, a microwave and a washing machine. It is well equipped with plenty of cutlery, glasses, plates and cooking utensils, so the villa can be used for entertaining more than the six people who can sleep there. |
| Living Rooms: | The lounge is situated upstairs with a south facing balcony, looking over the countryside towards the sea. There are two comfortable sofas as well as a welcoming fire which is often used in the winter and a library of over 100 books. |
| Other: | The dining area is situated next to the kitchen and has a table suitable for 6 people. There is a patio door leading outside, where meals can also be taken in hot weather. This area is shaded from the hot sun. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
Virgilia, our maid, spends two hours twice a week (except public holidays) cleaning, making beds and helping guests enjoy their holiday. There is a good supply of bed linen and towels, but please bring your own beach towels. |

Notes on accommodation
A cot and high chair can be hired from our villa manager. There are also electric heaters which can be used on cold evenings.
Outside
The villa is set in a 1500 sq.m. garden with rockeries, Oleanders, Bougainvillea, Mimosa and some pine, fig and fruit trees. A wall of flowers surrounds the private tiled swimming pool (10m x 5 m). There is a large barbecue built into this wall and a large sun patio with sun loungers, table and chairs. A shady pergola has a large tiled table with seating area which is ideal for outdoor eating. The pool is normally in the sun, except late evening, when the pictures were taken.
Coast/Beach
The sea is about 4 km away through the pinewoods. There is a magnificent unspoilt beach which stretches for miles. Along the beach you will find a few restaurants and beach bars. Val do Lobo (3km) has a sandy beach, several shops, a bank, bars, restaurants, a disco and mini-golf.
Golf
The villa is almost exactly halfway between the golf courses of Val de Lobo (36 holes) and Quinta do Lago (36 holes). The courses of Sao Lourenco and Pinheiros Altos are also nearby. All these courses are of the highest quality. Val do Lobo and Quinta do Lago have both hosted the Portuguese Open. Sao Lourenco is rated amongst the best courses in Europe and has spectacular views.
Travel
Faro airport is only about 20 minutes drive from the Villa. Since the new motorway opened from Lisbon it is also possible to drive from Lisbon in under 3 hours. Sometimes this can be a cheaper way to fly to Portugal.
Distances
Val do Lobo is 3km away as is Quinta do Lago. The town of Almancil is 4 km away.
Further details
Val do Lobo (3km) has a sandy beach, several shops, a bank, bars, restaurants, a disco and mini-golf. For the energetic, there is tennis at the Vale do Lobo Tennis Academy and a variety of sports available at Clube Barrington. Horse riding is also available nearby.
The new Quinta shopping centre (within walking distance) has a large supermarket, restaurants, bars a variety of shops and a bank. The Algarve now has four water slide parks, the nearest being 6km away. Nearby, there are many good restaurants both inland and on the beach.
Booking notes
A 20% non refundable deposit is required to secure a booking. The remaining 80% must be paid 6 weeks before departure. Bookings can be secured either by telephone or by email.
We take bookings on a per day basis, with a minimum booking period of 3 days, but are flexible regarding changeover days.
