A delightful townhouse, in a quiet location of a luxury development, Dunas Douradas, situated on the Algarve coast, between Quinta do Lago and Vale do Lobo. Both bedrooms have early morning sun, garden and woodland views and have air conditioning units. The townhouse is equipped and furnished to a high standard. Wi Fi recently installed. The paved south facing terrace is partly shaded by a pergola and there is a charcoal BBQ. Beyond the terrace there is a private and enclosed sunny garden. This is an ideal location for a relaxing and peaceful holiday for couples or families. Although the property does not have a swimming pool, within a 5 minutes' walk there is a very large outdoor pool at the Clubhouse of Dunas Douradas. Golfers will appreciate the proximity of a number of superb golf courses and will benefit from golf discounts obtained through Dunas Douradas. New shower rooms have been installed. Non smokers preferred.

Notes on prices
Prices are per week in Euros, payment in sterling is possible. Long term rentals considered for winter period. Price upon request. 3 or 4 night bookings possible except in July and August.
Changeover day
A saturday changeover is preferred. Entrance to the townhouse is around 3pm. If you are on an early flight please advise and we will try to get townhouse ready earlier. Townhouse must be vacated at 10.30am on day of departure.

Notes on accommodation
The townhouse is suitable for children. Cots and highchairs can be supplied for a small additional cost. There are electric heaters in the living room and the bedrooms both have air-conditioning units which can also give heating in the winter. 2 stairgates are stored in the small utility space.
During the winter period, electric blankets can be provided, and all beds have duvets.
Accessibility
The property has a ground floor bedroom and shower room, however the downstairs shower room has not been adapted to wheelchair users.
Outside
There is a built-in charcoal BBQ on the terrace. The garden and terrace furniture includes one square dining table, 4 chairs, 2 sun bed, 2 reclining chairs and a parasol. Additional reclining chairs/sun bed on request.
Coast/Beach
The townhouse is a 5 minutes drive or a pleasant 15 to 20 minutes walk to the lovely white sandy beach. There are 5 beach restaurants/bars, most of which remain open during the winter. In summer water sport facilities such as jetski, waterski and parasailing are available. Sunbeds and sunshade can be hired daily or weekly.
Golf
Golf discounts are available through Dunas Douradas main reception, on a number of nearby courses, such as Pinheiros Altos, Quinta do Lago, Vila Sol, Vale do Lobo and Vilamoura.
Travel
Dunas Douradas is approx 25 minutes away from Faro airport.
A car is recommended but not essential.
Distances
Almancil is approx. 10 minutes away by car. There are two shopping centres within a 5 minutes drive.
Further details
The nearby Quinta Shopping is an elegant shopping area with upmarket shops, restaurants and cafés and a pub. It is very pleasant to sit in the attractive plazza to enjoy a coffee or a light lunch. Banks, supermarkets are all available within a short distance. Within walking distance from the townhouse, the clubhouse at Dunas Douradas has a very large outdoor pool, a terrace and pool bar, a restaurant, a minimarket that is open 7 days a week. There are also 2 tennis courts and a resident coach is available. Within a short drive there are the 14 courts of Vale do Lobo Tennis Club and in Quinta do Lago is Jim Stewart's Tennis Academy.

Booking of the property is done direct with the owner. Payment is accepted in sterling or euro. 50% of the rental rate is required upon booking and the balance 30 days prior to arrival. Refunds will be considered subject to length of notice given.

About the owner
My husband and I have lived in Portugal since 1987 and love this beautiful country and its people. My husband has his own business offering project management services and I look after our two properties which we offer for rental to guests wishing to enjoy the lovely Algarve sunshine. As our two boys are now 19 and 13, I have more time available to make sure that all is ready for guests' arrival. I like to pay particular attention to the little details that make the difference in a holiday. I feel that I am very flexible as to the clients' needs, and if, for instance, toys and kids DVDs are requested, then I'll provide them in the property.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We bought the townhouse because we felt that Dunas Douradas (which means golden dunes) is a perfect spot for a wonderful holiday. Although situated in a quiet location in the resort, it is close to lots of facilities and the beach is a 5 mins drive away. On the beach, there are sun shades and loungers for hire, water sports are available during the summer months and the beach restaurants are open all year. It is also within a short drive to lots of restaurants and nightlife. For golfers, there are many golf courses in the area. Families can relax knowing they are in a safe environment.
Unique benefits of the property
We provide beach towels so you don't have to bring those with you and there's usually a good selection of buckets, spades and body boards for the kids.
