Notes on accommodation
The apartment has secure allocated garage parking, large balcony with table and chairs, air-conditioning/heating, clothes drying rack. The building has a 24-hour reception/security service.
Accessibility
The elevator serves the garage and all floors. Wheelchair access to the apartment may be possible depending on chair with and other factors.
Outside
There is a communal garden with shared outdoor pool and restaurant area.
The building also has a heated indoor pool, jacuzzi, gym and spa all of which are available for guests' use at a nominal daily charge.
Coast/Beach
Praia dos Tres Castelos beach is within 5 minutes'walk of the apartment and has coves and rock formations for which the Algarve is well known. The expansive and well-catered beach at Praia da Rocha is just a few minutes further. Several others of the Algarve's renowned beaches are also within easy reach.
Golf
Many of the Algarve’s famous courses are nearby. Alto Golf (less than 5 minutes’ drive) was the last designed by Sir Henry Cotton. The championship course at Penina is 15 minutes away and Palmares, Gramacho, Morgado, etc. about 20 minutes. Hire of equipment, tee times and transportation can be arranged at nearby agents.
Travel
Faro airport is 70 km away (approximately 50 minutes drive). Transportation to/from the apartment can be arranged through Reception. Public transportation in and around Portimao is plentiful and reasonably-priced. Car hire is available at outlets in Praia da Rocha as well as at Faro airport. Excursions at competitive rates can be arranged at nearby agents.
Distances
The apartment is located between the towns of Portimao (3km) and Alvor (4km). To the north, in the hills, is the spa town of Monchique (20km). Lisboa is about 3hrs away by motorway and the Spanish border a little over an hour.
Further details
Praia da Rocha has shops, restaurants, bars, supermarkets, banks, post office, etc. Portimao, Faro, Lagos and Silves are of historical and cultural interest. Shopping complexes are available in Portimao and at other nearby locations. The western Algarve coast is dramatic and beautiful, Cape St Vincent being the most south-westerly point in Europe. The Monchique hills, inland, are famous for their spa, chicken piri-piri, and for producing the corks for many of the world’s wine bottles!
Booking notes
Telephone/online bookings are held for 7 days and are confirmed upon receipt of deposit (50% of total cost). Balance is due 8 weeks before start of holiday. Money can be transferred to a paypal account or to a bank account in Portugal.
