Coast/Beach
5 minutes drive to Salema and Burgau beaches on South coast with excellent sand, sunshades and loungers for hire. Other secluded beaches within easy reach. 20 minutes drive to Castelejo and the Atlantic beaches for great surfing with surf school and board hire. Superb small restaurants on many beaches (full details at the villa).
Golf
Parque da Floresta Golf & Leisure Resort 3 minutes drive, challenging championship 18 hole course, golf clinic and driving range (also floodlit tennis courts, bowling green, gym, sauna and a five star restaurant). Boavista Golf Club 15 minutes drive towards Lagos. The famous Penina Club is approx. a halfhour drive away.
Travel
Faro Airport 60 minutes drive via motorway. Car hire essential.
Distances
5 minutes walk to Budens, 12 minutes drive from Praia da Luz and 15 minutes from Lagos. 20 minutes drive from Sagres and Cape St Vincent to the West.
Further details
The Western Algarve is a beautiful unspoilt area of natural beauty, with sleepy whitewashed fishing villages. Cape St Vincent and its historic fort, at the furthest western point of mainland Europe is certainly worth a visit. Also inland is the historic mountain village of Monchique worth a visit if only to see the magnificent views to the south and the Atlantic to the west. Also the castle and ancient town of Silves shouldn't be missed. Windsurfing, microlighting and deepsea fishing available from some beaches and Lagos Marina. Supermarket in Budens, main shopping in Lagos. Banks/cash points and inexpensive restaurants in most villages. Wonderful walking country with Portugals 'right to roam'.

Retired owners purchased property 8 years ago for 3 sons and their families including 6 grandchildren to also enjoy, in quiet location but close to beaches and main amenities. Having spent many years as expatriates in Far East and Africa the warm weather was a major factor.

Wonderful weather (usually)! compared with the same time of year in UK, including winter sunshine. Many varied sporting facilities - golf, tennis, riding, surfing, bowls and excellent walking country right out of the villa.
