Notes on accommodation
Very quiet, airy and comfortable apartment. Non-smoking and no pets.
Accessibility
The apartment is situated on the 1st floor with elevator from ground floor and the underground car park. Level access from the street.
Outside
Set in private well-maintained grounds, the complex has a large shared swimming pool, with fresh water shower. The pool is not heated, but this is not required during the hot summer months.
A separate patio area is provided for sunbathing and relaxing.
Entrance to the apartment block is by a secure visual intercom system. A dedicated parking space is provided in the secure underground car park (a must during the high season), with entrance controlled by remote control.
All windows have shutters.
All amenities, restaurants, bars and nightlife are within a short walk of the apartment.
The apartment block boasts an open roof terrace, with built in barbeques, ideal for entertaining large groups.
Coast/Beach
500mtr to beach, stunning shell shaped bay with golden sand, perfect for young children and families.
1Km walk along boardwalk over sand dunes around the bay to Salir do Porto, huge sand dunes. Great fun for climbing and sand boarding.
10 min drive Foz do Arelho. Fantastic sandy beach and lagoon. Water sports and surfing. Beach bars and restaurants.
15 min drive Nazare beach. Sandy beach and lovely old village.
Fantastic walks around headlands of the bay overlooking the Atlantic.

Travel
Nearest airport is Lisbon 100km (1 hour drive), Porto is 250km (2.5 hours drive). Car hire is recommended however San Martinho is served by trains and an express coach link from Lisbon. Local buses and taxi stand are just outside the apartment complex.
Pick up and drop off service available at approx. 90 euro each way.
If you don't want to hire a car then take a taxi from Lisbon airport to Lisbon bus station and there is a direct regular coach service from there taking just over an hour.

Foz do Arelho - 10 minute drive beach, lagoon, sailing, surfing.
Nazare - 15 minute drive - old fishing town, funicular, beach, swimming.
Caldas da Rainha - 15 minute drive - Spa town, lots of shopping.
Obidos - 20 minute drive Fantastic medieval walled town.
Alcobaca - 25 minute drive- large monastery town.
Peniche - 40 minute drive surfing, nature reserve.
Sintra - 1 hour drive - Pena National Palace, Sintra-Cascais Natural Park.
Fatima 45 minute drive Place of pilgrimage.
Further details
The town has a large supermarket and several small minimarkets selling the majority of requirements, larger stores are in Caldas da Rainha. The local market is open daily (except Mondays) selling fresh fish and vegetables. There are also butchers and bakers. Any number of tourist shops selling souvenirs and local curios.
There is a splash park in nearby Nazare.
Local activities, all within easy distance, include horse riding, surfing, body boarding, walking, canoeing, windsurfing, kite surfing, sailing, scuba diving, fishing, golf, beach soccer, volleyball, waterskiing, jet skiing, tennis, karting, paragliding, canoeing.
