This spacious, modern 2 bedroom apartment is fully equipped and available for rental throughout the year. The property has a light and airy feeling to it and has been decorated to a very high standard. The apartment is situated in the popular St. James complex which has a large swimming pool as well as a paddling pool for the younger children. We have holidayed in Luz as a family for the past 6 years and highly recommend it. The beautiful sandy beach is a 10 minute walk, there are lots of restaurants to choose from and two well-stocked supermarkets if you prefer to eat in. Luz is also an excellent base from which to explore this part of the Algarve.

Changeover day
Change over day is flexible however we do ask that guests vacate the apartment by 10.00am on the day of departure and arrive anytime after 12.00 midday.
| Bedrooms: | Bedroom 1 has a double bed with large fitted wardrobes and an en-suite bathroom. Bedroom 2 has twin beds with large fitted wardrobes. |
| Bathrooms: | The en-suite bathroom has a shower, basin, bidet and wc. The family bathroom has basin, bidet, wc and bath with shower. The family bathroom also has a heated towel rail. |
| Kitchen: | The kitchen is fully equipped with washing machine, fridge/freezer, electric hob & oven, microwave, kettle and toaster. The cupboards are well stocked with cutlery, plates, glasses etc and even a breville sandwich maker - a must for cheese toastie time ! |
| Living Rooms: | The living area is very spacious, the dining area has a good size table seating four. The lounge area consists of two leather sofas, 37" LCD television with DVD player & Sky TV. A Playstation 2, CD/radio and a well stocked library are also available. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
The property management team will help you with any problems during your stay. Towels and bedlinen are provided however, you will need to bring beach towels. The property will be cleaned weekly and towels and beds changed weekly too. |

Notes on accommodation
We would hope that this apartment has everything you need to make your holiday an enjoyable one. If you need a cot or a high chair this can be arranged at an extra cost. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have a particular request. We do operate a strict no- smoking policy and would request that guests adhere to this.
Accessibility
The complex is wheelchair friendly - our apartment is on the second floor accessed by lift or stairs.
Outside
A table with two chairs is provided on the balcony for those times when perhaps the children need an early night and you need a night cap ! There is also a charcoal bbq and clothes drying rack. The gardens are beautiful and well maintained. The pool too is well maintained with ample sunbeds and parasols.
Coast/Beach
Luz beach is a 10 minute walk from the apartment. The sandy beach is perfect for building sandcastles and enjoying beach life. Watersports are available. The coastal path to Burgau is well worth the effort as the views are stunning and Burgau beach is another stunning beach.
Golf
The Algarve is well known for its lovely golf courses. The nearest to the apartment is the Boavista Golf course, a 5 minute drive away. A 10-15 minute drive to the west is the Parque de Floresta Golf course and further afield is the Penina Golf course.
Travel
Praia da Luz is a 45 minute drive from Faro airport. Car hire can be arranged - picking up and dropping off at the airport however, if you prefer transfers can be arranged by taxi.
Distances
5km to the east of Luz is Lagos an old market town that has grown over the years. Here you will find the old mixed in with the new. Cobbled back streets are great for exploring where you will find a nice mix of shops and restaurants. In the summer evenings street entertainment makes Lagos a must see attraction. Other places of interest are no more than a 30 minute drive away - Slide & Splash waterpark, Portimao, Sagres, Zoomarine and the annual sand sculptures are well worth a visit.
Further details
Luz has everything you could possibly want. The village has definitely grown since we first visited in 2004 however, is hasn't lost any of it's charm. It is a definite favourite in my family - with the old and young alike !
Booking notes
A non-refundable deposit of £100 is required to secure the booking and full payment will be required 8 weeks before arrival. A £100 breakages fee will also be taken at the time of balance - this will be refunded once the apartment has been checked by the management company.

About the owner
My husband and I live in England with our two very energetic boys! We have a very busy working life - I in a school as a teaching assistant and my husband in Finance. Our children love sport and we can be found on the side of a football pitch - whether it is for a match or training - most days of the week! Praia da Luz is our escape and a chance to recharge the batteries!

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
My husband and I bought the apartment four years ago after falling in love with Luz. Prior to this we were staying in either hotels or other peoples' apartments!
Our sons love the area as much as we do. They have virtually grown up on holidays in Luz and we know that as soon we walk through the door our holiday begins. We have made numerous friends there and are confident that the boys will definitely have other children to play with. If they are happy we are happy!
Unique benefits of the property
The apartment is in a great location for exploring the surrounding area. Some of the best days are when you take the car and head off in a certain direction not quite knowing what you will find. So far we have found some amazing beaches, watched the fishermen defy gravity at Sagres and watched surfers catch the waves on the west coast. All of them are memorable days.
