Run down the beach for an early morning swim and finish the day with a sun downer overlooking the cliffs and ocean. Instead of paying hotel prices staying at the Luz Beach apartments, gives you the freedom to go at your own pace. Located on the traffic free promenade, there are no roads to get to the beach and no long walk with buckets and spades! Have the flexibility of walking to any number of eateries to while away an evening sampling the local cuisine. We have our own lending library if you want to spend your time reading or why not walk from our apartments along the coast path to the neighbouring fishing village of Burgau?

Notes on prices
Prices may be subject to last minute reductions.
A 20% non-refundable deposit must be paid to make a booking. 80% should be paid on arrival by card or cash.
For apartments where we can add camp beds, children can stay for +€5 per night.
Changeover day
Guests can arrive on whatever day they choose. Minimum say in 2 nights or 3 nights in July and August.
Notes on accommodation
These pretty white 2 storey apartments are well decorated and meticulously maintained. Providing excellent security with security door into the complex with entry code or personal code, meaning access to residents only. There is an on-site property manager Monday to Fridays + weekends during peak times, to help you with problems or to book excursions. A weekly cleaning and linen change is included in the price and towels are changed twice a week. Wi-fi is available in the apartments for a small additional charge. There is a free book exchange. There is a communal toy box for kids.
Provided in each apartment and studios are the following:
Balconies all have awnings and comfortable teak furniture. Free safe. Flat screen plasma TV. We have satellite TV with UK, CNN, German, Dutch, Spanish & Portuguese channels. Fully equipped kitchen with cooking utensils.
Cool Boxes to take to the beach. Iron and ironing board. Hairdryer.
Accessibility
Studios are suitable for people with mobility problems being on the ground floor with no steps to access. There is free on-street parking outside the apartments but you cannot reserve a space.
Outside
Balconies all have awnings and comfortable teak furniture. The terraces have sun beds.
Coast/Beach
The apartments are on Luz Beach which is a beautiful sandy beach with the European blue flag indicating clean sand and clean water. It offers sun beds for Mum and Dad to relax and at one end a collection of rock pool are perfect for children to explore. The west coast, a Mecca to surfers, is about 30 minutes drive away offering huge unspoilt beaches with large breakers suitable for experienced and novice surfers.
Golf
Enjoy a golf holiday with 3 golf courses within 15 minutes drive. The nearest course is Quinta da Boavista a few minutes drive away. There are a further 4 within ½ hour.
Special interest holidays
You can book excursions from reception. Inlcuding trip to Cliff Richards vineyard, dolphin safaris, visit to the historic town of Silves, city and shopping trip to Lisbon or Loule market.
Travel
Access is from Faro airport 85km away, which is about 50 minutes by car. The train from Faro to Lagos is very inexpensive and takes about 1½ hours. Please ask for information or airport transfers which we can organise for you from 70 euros. There is a bus stop 100ms from the apartments which will take you to Lagos, or the neighbouring fishing villages of Burgau and Salema.

Further details
Luz has every imaginable water sport available in the summer months from sailing boats to windsurfers and pedalos to log or ringo rides. Tennis courts are available for hire in the village of Luz for sporty types. If lawn bowling if your hobby, Parque da Floresta, 10 minutes drive away has a bowling lawn. There are a number of resorts in Luz with swimming pools, for which you can purchase day tickets. Please ask for details from reception. Lagos has a multitude of activities on offer with wake boarding trips, scuba diving, deep sea fishing, sailing trips on either private yachts or pleasure boats like the Bom Dia. Experience a luxury motor cruise or go on one of the exciting high speed dolphin safaris. You can also go on Kayaking tours around the grottos or take one of the grotto trips in small fishing boats being whizzed through a maze of stacks stumps and water arches. Many come to the Algarve for the beaches but the countryside is equally worth exploring. You can take cycle tours from the top of the Monchique hills and free-wheel through the Eucalyptus forests to finish the trip with a swim a fresh water lake. Explore the gently undulating countryside on horse back from one of our local riding schools. Caldas Do Monchique is a quaint spa town in the hills and well worth a visit. Or enjoy the local delicacy of chicken piri piri in the town of Monchique and visit the ruined convent. If you want to give the kids a great day out, day trips go from Luz to Slide and Splash an exciting water park or Zoo marine where you can watch spectacular sea lion and dolphin shows. Book a lesson with a local surf school and learn how to ride the waves on the dramatic west coast.
Booking notes
To book we require 20% deposit which can be paid by bank transfer or credit card. The balance can be paid on arrival or before arrival, whatever is most convenient for our guests.

About the owner
The apartments are owned by my father in law. Barry has owned the apartments for about 20 years and has lived in the Algarve since 1969. He spends a lot of time making sure they are up to a high standard of cleanliness and in good repair. Myself or our multi lingual manager, Naomi, man the reception Mondays to Fridays and weekends during busy periods.

Unique benefits of the property
Listening to the sound of the waves as you lie in bed. Having no traffic in front of the apartments and an uninterrupted view of the ocean. There is no need to have a car as the beach is a stones throw from the accommodation and there are bars, restaurants, supermarkets and chemists walking distance.
