This villa is extremely well catered towards families and groups of golfers alike. Situated on a quiet road - 1 min walk of the convenience store, 2 mins to the tennis complex(private tuition available) 3 mins to the playground, a 5 min walk to golf club/driving range and clubhouse with restaurant facilities and a 10 min walk to the Marriott /Spa and beaches. It has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathroom, kitchen/diner, lounge, dining room and plenty of storage space. It has a 42inch plasma screen with Sky sports, DVD player, Ipod dock, free WIFI, WII and extra television. The pool/garden are very private and equipped with 6 sun loungers and outdoor garden furniture. There is a purpose built BBQ for outdoor entertaining. A key feature of the pool is the electric cover for added child safety. During summer months there is Club Aventura (organised outdoor activities) and specially run courses on the UFEA standard football pitch. There are fantastic surf and bathing beaches within a 10 min drive.

Changeover day
Changeover day is Saturday during peak season otherwise we are flexible. Check in is after 3.00pm and check out is 10.00am.

Notes on accommodation
We can accommodate 2 further persons with z beds, however this will be charged at an additional cost (please contact owners for details).
All rooms are fitted with fly screens.
We are a family friendly villa, 2 infants cots, a highchair, steriliser and stair gate are all provided.
Pool heating is included for July and August, if required outside these times an additional surcharge of £60 per week will be applied.
The house is very well equipped and furnished to a high standard.
Outside
The garden and pool are extremely private and are for the soul use of guests staying at the villa. The pool is 8 x 4 metres and has an electric cover for additional child safety. There are six sunloungers and 2 sun chairs and a parasol. There is outdoor dining for 8 with an additional parasol. There is also a large purpose built brick BBQ. Pool heating is included for July and August, if required outside these times a £60 surcharge per week will be applied.
Coast/Beach
You can hear the waves crashing from the villa. The stunning beach is a 2 minute drive/10 minute walk. During the summer there is a shuttle service running throughout the resort. Baleal is a surfers and bathers haven, it is surrounded by surf camps providing tuition and equipment hire. There are beautiful beaches north and south of the resort, Areia Branco to the south and Foz do Arehlo, St Martinho do Porto to the north. Obidos lagoon 10 mins away is a good choice for young children.
Golf
The villa is located within the Praia D'El Rey resort and is a five minute walk to the golf club/ clubhouse. PDR is a 72 par championship links course providing dramatic Atlantic coastal views intermixed with pine woods. It has been voted the top 13th course in Europe 2008 and has won Portugal's leading resort 2007 and 2008. There is an excellent driving range and 2 PGA pros to hand for extra tuition. There is a golf shop on site, clubs and buggies can be hired.
The recently (2008) opened Bom Sucesso is a 10 minute drive. It is a challenging championship course taking in the Obidos lagoon.
CampoReal and Golden Eagle are both within a 30 minute drive of PDR.
Booking on the spot can be expensive so it is best to be prepared in advance and book through a specialist golf agency online.
Travel
Lisbon airport is about 80km from the resort and realistically takes 60 mins. Faro is 3 1/2 hours but easy motorway driving. Porto (Ryanair) is about 2 1/2 hours away. The toll charge from Lisbon to PDR is under 5 euro. Car hire is essential to gain the full benefit of surrounding coastline/ countryside and ease of access to restaurants etc.
Distances
The UNESCO protected world heritage site Obidos is only 15 minutes away, an ancient and charming hillside town with a wealth of history. Good selection of restaurants. Peniche a local fishing port is 20 mins away, good selection of restaurants and here you can catch a boat to the Berlenga Islands for fishing and diving (summer only). Wine tastings at the unusual Qunita dos Loridos and Qunita do Sanguinhal are to be savoured - 30 mins.
Further details
Serra D'El Rey is a five min drive and has a small supermarket, bank, cafe, petrol station and a good golf shop (less expensive than on site). Caldas da Rainha is a charming market town, it has a rustic outdoor market with local produce and several large supermarkets, also good for shopping.
There is a wealth of historical sites stretching from outside Lisbon - Sintra to Mafra north to Batalha and Alcobaca.
For children there is a water park in Peniche (15 mins June to Mid September) and Go Karting at Lourinha (25 mins).
Booking notes
A 25% non refundable deposit is required at the time of booking. The remaining balance is required 8 weeks in advance of your stay. At this time we also require a £250 deposit against any breakages/damages. This will be refunded after your stay following a satisfactory inspection.
