The apartment is in Fuseta, a family friendly village with all amenities and good transport links by rail and car to Faro and the rest of the Algarve. The Formosa Village apartment block was completed in early 2009. From the balcony and master bedroom, there are views over the Rio Formosa, nature reserve to the river and sea. There is a communal swimming pool and grassed sunbathing area. The sandy beach on the River Formosa is 5 mins walk away or a ferry is available at regular intervals to the beautiful Armona Island beach across the river. The ferry ride takes 5-10 minutes. There is secure underground parking as well as parking outside the complex. Very comfortably furnished and well equipped. There are several good golf courses within 30 mins drive. The 'Jewel of the Algarve',Tavira, is about 20 minutes drive away. The eastern Algarve is less crowded (especially the beaches) and has more of a feel of the 'real' Portugal.

River beach 5 mins walk from apartment. Sandy and shallow water ideal for children.
Sea beach 5 mins walk to ferry, 5-10 min trip across river to beautiful sandy beach stretching for miles. Parasols and sun-loungers available in high season.

Three 18 hole courses within 20-30 mins drive.
Travel
30 mins drive from Faro airport. Alternatively, train from Faro direct to Fuseta 20 mins.
Distances
20 mins drive from Tavira, 'The Jewel of the Algarve'. Historic and genuine 'old Algarve' town. Plenty of restaurants, cafes and culture.
40 mins from Spanish border. 2-3 hours drive to Seville.
30 mins drive from Faro. 45 mins to Albufeira/Vilamoura.

Booking notes
50% deposit required at the time of booking with balance ofl payment to follow 6 weeks before arrival. Please check availability of flights before making a booking. Payment to be made by electronic transfer, in euros. If payments are not prompt bookings are liable to cancellation. Adequate travel insurance is essential and is the customers responsibility. £200 breakage deposit payable, returned within 14 days of departure, subject to satisfactory inventory check.

We live in Colchester in England. I work in the legal profession and my wife is a retired mental health nurse.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
We paid a deposit off plan in 2006 and the property was completed in February of 2009. We went on an inspection trip to Portugal and looked at a few locations in the Algarve. We found the Eastern Algarve to be less crowded and more of the genuine Portugal. Fuseta is only 30-40 minutes drive from the airport. The views over the Rio Formosa nature reserve , the river and then the sea sold the location of the apartment to us. Also the closeness of the river beach and the short ferry ride across to the endless, sandy Ihla de Armona. We also love the climate; there is warm sun from early spring into late Autumn, but even in Summer it is rarely too hot because of the cooling breeze from the Atlantic.
Unique benefits of the property
The apartment is only 5 minutes walk form the centre of Fuseta, which has all amenities and is a charming town. The railway stops a short walk away so if you don't want to use a car you can go east to Tavira, or West to Faro and onwards l towards the other end of the Algarve if you want. Tavira is a beautiful town and is only 15 -20 minutes drive in the car or 15 mins on the train. The seafood is excellent in Fuseta and all over the Algarve. The Portuguese also love their cakes and pastries and the custard tarts are a must. The closeness of the Rio Formosa nature reserve is great for walking and bird watching, we saw flamingos in September. It is also very peaceful. The Eastern Algarve has a cooling breeze but not the strong winds you often get in the centre and west.
