This luxury 2 bedroom apartment was completed in 2007. It is one of the larger types on the small complex, and boasts a private roof terrace to relax in the sun, with stunning views of the sea and the traditional fishing village of Burgau. On-site facilities include communal pool, children's pool, well equipped gym, sauna and jacuzzi. This well equipped and furnished apartment is a perfect retreat to experience the beautiful area; with its magnificent beaches, coastal walks and excellent golf courses. Burgau has pretty cobbled streets with white-washed houses, has a safe sandy beach, and a great selection of good family friendly restaurants. There is a very well stocked shop, bakery and wine shop, plus an ATM in the village. Its approximately 1 hour from Faro airport, and 12kms from Lagos, a busy historic town with a large marina. We have holidayed in this area for twenty years, and no matter where we go in the world, find very little to match it.

Changeover day
Saturday preferred in main season, but can be flexible on this. Apartment will not be available until 3.00pm on day of arrival and must be vacated by 10.00am on departure day in busy season.

Kitchen: Fully fitted kitchen with granite worktops, built in oven & ceramic hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, iron. Breakfast bar with stools. All kitchen utensils supplied.
Living Rooms: Spacious living area with 3 seater sofa bed, plus matching 2 seater sofa & coffee table, Flat screen satellite LCD TV, DVD, CD Player, PlayStation1. Dining area with large table seating 6. Patio doors to balcony, with electric shutters. Air Con/Heat unit.
Other: Large balcony with built in barbecue and patio furniture. Separate large private roof terrace with comfortable sun loungers and table and chairs. Private underground parking area with designated parking bay.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Bed linen and towels are provided. Please supply beach towels. The apartment is cleaned weekly, linen and towels are changed at the end of every stay and half way through a two week stay. A cot and high chair can be hired at request.

Notes on accommodation
The apartment enjoys both heating and air conditioning for all year use. The electric window shutters are great for keeping the apartment cool. It is newly furnished in a contemporary style and offers every comfort for a great self catering holiday. The large private roof terrace is a great bonus.

Located on the first floor and requires climbing two short flight of stairs.

The 4* resort of DomusIberica has its own exclusive club, with spacious swimming pool with loungers and umbrellas, kids paddling pool and play area, fully fitted gym, sauna and jacuzzi. Access to all is via electronic gate, refundable deposit required for card entry.
There is also a restaurant on site with bar area, and free wi-fi, for those who wish to bring laptops.

Coast/Beach
The beautiful safe sandy beach of Burgau is a 5 minute walk away, with a beach bar and lounger/umbrella hire. Within a short drive you can reach many magnificent beaches, eg: Salema, Zavial, Ingrina. To go slightly further afield (approximately 30 minutes drive), those who wish to surf will find all they need on the western coast, where surfing equipment can be hired.

Golf
The nearest golf courses are Parque da Floresta and the newly opened Espiche course, (both 10 minutes by car). Boavista and Palmares are also a short drive, (15-20minutes by car).

Travel
Approximately 1 hours drive from Faro airport. (2.75 hours from Lisbon airport) Car hire can be arranged, along with Taxi transfers.

Distances
The apartment is on the west of the traditional fishing village of Burgau, adjoining the Costa da Vicentina National Park. Its 2km to the popular resort of Luz to the east, and Salema to the west. 12 kms to Lagos, an attractive, lively historical town; with marina, fish market, intersting shops a vast array of restaurants serving all cuisines and music bars. The Roman spa town of Monchique & surrounding mountains and Sagres,(the end of the world), with great sunsets; are within 25 mins drive.

Further details
For the kids, trips to ZooMarine (an ocean theme park), the two large Water Parks, (Slide & Splash & Aqualand), can be booked at discounted prices from our agent in the village. Deep-sea fishing trips, Dolphin watching and boat trips around the coastal grottos can be made at Lagos. Surf schools are in abundance at Lagos, with one making a daily pick up from Burgau in the summer season. Scuba diving can be arranged at Lagos and Sagres. Water sports days are held at Luz, where together with Lagos and Martinal you can book Banana boats/ Ringos etc. Burgau has a small sports centre where you can book reasonable priced tennis & squash courts, attend fitness classes, and provides kids' activity mornings twice a week throughout the summer season. Riding stables are located 10 min drive away at Almadena. This area is also very popular with walkers with miles of spectacular costal walks.

Booking notes
25% non-refundable deposit, due at time of booking, balance due 6 weeks before departure. £150 refundable deposit cheque ( to cover loss of keys, and any damage/breakages) required with balance. This cheque will not be cashed and will be returned at end of stay, if all OK.

We have three children and have been holidaying in this area since they were all small, over twenty years! We couldn't believe what a little gem we had found. The kids, now grown up, still love Burgau, which proves it really does have something to charm all ages.
