Rose Cottage, is an independent well equipped cottage. A special place just for two. Ideally suited for lovers of the country. Cosy main double bedroom. Beamed ceilings. Antique and modern, The owner's artwork hangs on the walls. comfy lounge- outside patio. Pool sometimes shared with owner, Old cobbled streets. Inviting sun and blue skies. Rural countryside, lots of tracks to explore. 6km to Viana do Alentejo. 2km from the local village. 25 min from Historic town of Evora. Furnished to a high standard, extra detail has been given for your stay and comfort. Large tiled shower cubicle/bathroom. English free TV channels. ITV, BBC/ Sky. Wi Fi access DVD. Experience pure Alentejo. 90 min from Lisbon airport (new Beja airport opens May 22nd). Must be animal lovers dogs on property (in their kennels and run). Walks, birdwatching and country walks. Small dogs with vaccinations are welcome.

Rose Cottage is a choice place to stay. My aim is to make you comfortable. Home from Home. For long lets a wood provided for wood burner. Surcharge for winter heating. The property is private. The owner sometimes shares the pool.(summer season). room fans in cottage.

The property is totally flat and wheelchair friendly.(nursing help can be organised) If needed at an extra fee.

Table and chairs, garden umbrella, pool loungers, BBQ, patio with garden. The garden is neatly kept and the pool sparkling and inviting in the summer. Oleander hedges and rose garden.

Equipment provided.(just your brushes and oils to purchase) val can do that on booking. Why not combine art into your holiday. Extra accomodation is available if there are more than 2 painters, on the adjoining family farm. Its a fun way to combine your holiday, no stress.

Railway station. train s to Lisbon. Trains to Evora, Beja and the Algarve. 20 min from UNESCO town of Evora. where you can visit the temple of Diana. Roman ruins. On the Alentejo "Rota dos Vinhos" wine route. Excellent red and white wines of the region can be purchased at the local supermarket.
There is a tennis court in the village.. Raquets and balls can be arranged..
Fresh bread daily at the bakery.
Evora has a lovely market and well worth a visit to the City.

About the owner
I like my guests to feel cosy and comfortable. Rose Cottage has everything you need for your stay.
The property is within the triangle of 3 villages. All having their local history. This area is renown for its excellent wines and unique gastronomy. You can visit the "Adegas" wine cellars. The villages are old with whitewashed houses and cobbled streets The village people live simple lives here in the area and work mainly with sheep, cork cattle and olives . Rose Cottage is set within 5 hectare of olive grove. A rural area, ideal for country walks. Speaking English and Portuguese, you will not be at a loss for help in planning your time in this beautiful region. I am English and have lived in Portugal 30 years. Having been farming in this region for most of that time. Come and visit us.
Why the owner chose a home in this location
The original cottage is over 60 years old. I added on and made it into a lovely little rustic place to hide away and relax in. I have lived in this region for 27 years.
It is within 1 half hour accesses to Lisbon by train. Its a very attractive place to live or spend a holiday. Here one can forget about the city or stress of everyday working life and immerse in the fresh country air and wonder the little lanes surrounding the property. I myself like this area of the Alentejo for the simplicity it offers for a better quality of life, a great lifestyle of living here. The villagers are friendly and helpful. Take the basket and visit the daily market in Evora for lovely fresh veggies and excellent local cheeses. You might just fall in love with this beautiful Region.
