Two beautifully restored terraced farm cottages, set in unspoilt Algarvian countryside, yet only 20 minutes drive from some of Europes finest beaches. Monte do Limas is owned and run by Colin and Val Smith, who, together with their 2 sons, live in the adjoining farmhouse. Casal Lima has 2 bedrooms and sleeps 4/5 people. Casal Alfândega also has 2 bedrooms but sleeps 5/7 people. Both cottages are adjoining and share a pool. To the rear there is a garden with grass where children can play. We also have a pool table for the children and a professional basketball net. We are surrounded by beautiful countryside, with orange groves and vineyards. It is very safe for children to play and wander. There are some lovely walks from here.

Prices are for each property per week in UK pounds.
Winter bookings - 30 September 2012 to 1st April 2013. Substantial discounts are available for stays in excess of 4 weeks. Please telephone Val or Colin on (00351) 289 367856 for more information.
Any booking made before 30 October 2012 for 2013 season. The 2012 prices will be honoured.
Changeover day
Changeover day is Sunday (exceptions can be made, please contact us ) All clients can be met on arrival at Faro airport if required. Cottages are available for occupation by 2.30pm and must be vacated by 10am unless prior arrangements have been made.

Bedroom 1 has a double bed and is fitted throughout with pine furniture. Bedroom 2 has 2 single beds. One with an extra pull out bed below if required. There are stairs in this room which lead up to a small sleeping gallery with a single bed. Please note that the stairs are quite steep and are not suitable for the elderly or infirm or very young children. Both bedrooms overlook the pool. There is a comfortably furnished lounge with 2 leather sofas (one is a single sofabed) and an armchair and a log burning stove. There are French doors in this room which lead out onto the large private rear terrace overlooking the garden. This terrace has a table and chairs. The kitchen is fully fitted with an oven, hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, coffee maker and iron. There is a dining table and 6 chairs here. The bathroom has a bath, separate shower, hand basin, toilet and bidet. |

Notes on accommodation
Monte do Limas is very suitable for both families with children seeking some fun in the sun or couples seeking peace and solitude. It makes an ideal place for large parties up to 12 people, without having to be all under the same roof.
Accessibility
The property is not suitable for people in wheelchairs.
Outside
The pool is situated in front of the two cottages and is a good size of 9m x 4.5m.The shallow end is 1m deep and the deep end 2m. There is ample terracing around the pool for sunbathing. Each cottage has its own patio table and chairs, sunloungers, and large parasol. There is a large covered barbecue area to the side of the pool. Down a few steps there is a separate terrace next to the front garden,where you can sunbathe away from the pool.There is also a professional basketball net situated on this terrace. Both cottages have private rear terraces with patio furniture overlooking the rear garden. Both cottages have a covered parking space. To the side of the cottages there is a covered terrace with a pool table for the children and access to the rear garden.
Coast/Beach
There are some of the finest beaches in Europe here in the Algarve. Albufeira beach is 20 mins drive. But the best beaches are to be found either side of Albufeira, which include Olhos D'Agua,Sao Rafael & Galé to name but a few. These can easily be reached in 25 mins. For the more adventurous, an hours drive away is the magnificent west coast with it's vast, stunning, and almost empty beaches. There can be some big waves here. An ideal place for surfing and bodyboarding.
Golf
There are many, many golf courses on the Algarve. The nearest courses to Monte do Limas are Salgados, 10 mins west of Albufeira and 2 nine hole courses on the fringe of Albufeira at Balaia and the Pine Cliffs course at the Sheraton. 25 mins drive away is Vilamoura, which has a choice of another 5 courses. We are also only 25 minutes drive from the new Oceanic Amendoeira course in Silves.
Travel
Faro airport is 40 mins drive. Lisbon is 2 hours. Due to our location, car hire is essential. We can arrange this on your behalf at very reasonable rates. Please ask for details.
All our cars are waiting at the airport terminal car park. None of the hassle of queuing for hours to get your car or having to be transported to your car by courtesy bus.
Distances
We are an 8 minute drive from our nearest village of Paderne.

Further details
Our nearest village is Paderne, which is an 8 minute drive or a 25 minute walk. Paderne has a Moorish ruined castle to explore. Also, until early summer there is a river in which you can swim.There are several pre-marked walking routes from Paderne if you wish to explore the countryside. Paderne has a mini market, a bank, post office, greengrocers, chemist, newsagents, and 5 cafes. There are also 3 restaurants in the village. Within a 10 minute drive there are 6 restaurants, which cater for all price ranges and tastes. Also, 10 minutes drive from Monte do Limas is the village of Alte, which is a noted 'cultural' village, with is natural spring. The river has been dammed her and has been made into an open air swimming pool. There are also BBQ's here for public use. Or you can climb down the hill and swim in the natural pool at the bottom of the waterfall. There is a lovely picnic area here. The village is very pretty with winding cobbled streets, well worth exploring.
Booking notes
A security deposit of £150 against damages and to confirm booking will be required at the time of booking. The holiday must be paid for in full 6 weeks prior to arrival.The deposit will be returned to you by post the day following your departure, subject to there being no damage or breakage's at the property.

About the owner
We are Colin and Val Smith. We live on site at Monte do Limas in the farmhouse adjoining the cottages.
We have 2 teenage sons and a Dalmation dog called Millie, who is very friendly. We have lived here for 13 years and have been very happy here.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We love it here in the hamlet of Lentiscais. It is extremely peaceful and very pretty. We have uninterupted views of the surrounding countryside. We live at the end of a private lane, so are never bothered by passing traffic (except the farmer once or twice a week).
Yet we are only a few minutes from the village of Paderne. Our youngest son still attends the local school there and we really feel part of the community. There are many cafes to sit and meet people and it is a very safe enviroment to bring up our family.
We are 20 odd minutes from Albufeira and the coast, which is no hardship, and it's nice to be away from the rush especially in high summer.
Unique benefits of the property
We feel that Monte do Limas makes a great spot for family and or friends that like to holiday together, but don't like the confines of being under one roof. It doesn't matter how close you are, we all need our privacy. If both cottages are rented together you have the feel of a villa holiday as the pool and gardens are private to you (except the odd visit by our boys if they are welcome), but you can close your own door at night and not worry about whats going on in the next room.
Also the cottages are very spacious for two bedroom properties. All our clients are very surprised at the space available.
