Notes on accommodation
The apartment is double glazed and fully air-conditioned but also benefits from electric under-floor heating if required. Electric garage doors lead to secure underground parking with an allocated space. Electric security shutters. Non smoking apartment. The terrace has a wall and a gate at the top of the steps that lead to the private garden with pool.

Accessibility
The apartment is on the ground floor and all on one level although there are 3 steps from the terrace to the garden.
The garden is on one level. The complex is also all on one level with only small entrance steps to access all the facilities. However there are steps to enter the complex from the secure underground ground parking. Parking for the disabled is available.

Outside
The terrace has wicker style, all weather furniture comprising 4/6 chairs and a table, low level outside lights. Three steps lead down to a private lawned and landscaped garden including a 6 x 3 metre swimming pool. Garden furniture includes two sun loungers and two reclining chairs. As the garden is newly planted, the shrubs need time to mature but the garden is fenced. Wonderful views over Luz bay.

Coast/Beach
Beaches are easily accessible by car in less than 5 mins or on foot along a rugged coastal footpath. There is a bus stop at the entrance of Porto Dona Maria. Buses are clean, inexpensive and run to time. Please note that the foot path is not suitable for people with walking difficulties, very young children or prams.

Golf
The apartment is close to several excellent golf courses: the 18-hole, championship, Boa Vista Golf is the nearest (approx 3km). Others include Parque da Floresta, Palmares Links, Alto Golf and Penina Golf.

The owner can supply details of companies that will pre book golf at the many excellent courses on the Algarve at very competitive prices.

Within Porto Dona Maria is a Golf Driving Range.

Most activities are well catered for in the local area.

Travel
The nearest airport is Faro International which is just 60 minutes drive away. The main road along the Algarve is the A22 which is a dual carriageway and tends not to be too busy. Car hire is not essential but is very reasonable on the Algarve. Taxi transfers are available but a car will allow you to explore the beautiful coastline ,bays, beaches and the mountains.

The complex includes a large communal swimming and paddling pool, indoor health suite, heated pool, Jacuzzi, Turkish bath, sauna, gym and changing facilities all for residents use only. The apartment has a wi-fi connection that guests can use free of charge. Within the spa is the reception which is open 7 days a week to help with any enquiries such as booking taxis, restaurants etc. Within Porto Dona Maria there is a restaurant and snack bar serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Car hire is not essential but is very reasonable on the Algarve, taxi transfers are available. There is a bus stop next to entrance for Porto Dona Maria. Buses on the Algarve are clean,cheap and run on time.
Reception can arrange free delivery of groceries from the supermarket in Luz.

Booking notes
Payments can be made in sterling or euros. Credit cards are not accepted. A non-refundable deposit of 15% is payable on booking. Balance to be paid 8 weeks prior to holiday by cheque or bank transfer. Cancellation refunds - four to eight weeks 50% refunded, two to four weeks 25% refunded, less than two weeks - no refund. In the event of a problem the owner will always try to work with clients to find alternative dates where possible.

Guest comments

About the owner
We are just a normal family who have talked about owning a property abroad for what seems like forever. Now in our fifties we decided it was now or never. Having travelled extensively we used all this experience to select a location and property. We also wanted to have somewhere that we, our children and grandchildren could enjoy. So we took the plunge.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
The area that our property is located in is in our minds perfect. Turn the clock back 20 years then add all the facilities that you may want today and you have the Western Algarve. If you want to get away from it all then you can. If you want a family holiday this area is perfect with lots to entertain the children. If you want to enjoy nightlife this is also catered for. Whatever your holiday requirements this area provides it. Every time we visit we discover new beaches to sunbathe on, new places to eat in and new bars to drink in. Even better everything is still run by local families which means you experience the true Portugal. Once you visit you will fall in love forever as we have.

Unique benefits of the property
When you buy off plan it is always a risk but the apartment and complex have exceeded our expectations. Everything about Mar Da Luz is 5 star. Both our builder, designer and agent are very experienced and it really shows in this development. The complex is small and run like a hotel with a reception to cater for all the clients needs. All the facilities are for the sole use of clients staying within the complex. Having your own private garden and pool is a real bonus to be enjoyed. This apartment is away from the hustle and bustle but also close to all the facilities.
