This luxury villa provides a relaxing environment for families or groups of adults alike. The villa is set in large, pretty grounds which easily accommodate the magnificent 12m long pool and its surrounding terraces. Outside is a BBQ house and large shady seating area beneath a pergola - ideal for lazy lunches or an afternoon gin and tonic with a lemon picked from one of the trees in the garden. The swimming pool, (to which you can prevent child access) is large enough to allow 'proper swimming' or numerous volleyball players. There are excellent nearby beaches if you can bear to leave the villa! Inside the accommodation is light, airy, spacious and modern. The luxurious double bedrooms each have double doors opening onto terrace or patio areas which are perfect for more private breakfasts or evening drinks. In the evenings, you can cook in the superbly equipped kitchen, barbecue, or take a short stroll to one of the nearby bars and restaurants.

Prices are for the property per week in UK pounds. Pool heating is available at £120 per week. This would normally be advised from October through to June.
Changeover day
Preferred changeover day is Saturday, although there may be some flexibility, particularly out of season.

Notes on accommodation
The villa is suitable for children, with cot and highchair available. The villa grounds are enclosed, as is the parking area. From June 2009 it will be possible to restrict children’s' access to the pool area. Local restaurants are child friendly. The telephone is set up to receive incoming calls only.
Accessibility
The villa is not specifically adapted for wheelchair users, although it is spacious, with only one upstairs room. For the elderly and young children, local restaurants and shops are within easy walking distance with no hills.
Outside
The private pool is approximately 12x5m with steps and a shallow and deep end. This can be heated at a small additional cost. Terraces surrounding the pool easily accommodate the 12 loungers and there is a large barbecue area, pergola and seating area. Towards the back of the property there is a swing for children and small terraces to each double bedroom. Gardens include both young and established plants and include fruit trees and an olive tree.
Coast/Beach
There are more than 5 beaches within 10 minutes drive of the villa. Rafael Beach has lifeguards and an excellent fish restaurant and toilet facilities. It is approximately 5 minutes drive from the villa. Also only a few minutes drive away is Gale beach, with lifeguards, toilet facilities and a selection of restaurants and cafes.
Golf
There are many local courses, the nearest of which being Salgados which is only a few minutes drive. Only 30 minutes away is Vilamoura, boasting several championship courses. You can obtain full information on golf courses and receive booking discounts at the Alistair Macgregor Office, just 2 minutes walk from the villa.
Travel
Faro airport is approx 40 minutes drive away. Car hire is strongly recommended in order to access beaches and larger shops, although it would be possible to spend a few relaxing days at the villa without one.
Distances
The nearest town is Albufiera, about three miles away, with many restaurants, cafes and shops, a beach and a lively nightlife. Worth a visit within a 45 minute drive are Vilamoura, perfect for strolling, with excellent restaurants and shops overlooking a large harbour; Silves, a Moorish town and castle set on a hill. Loule if you want to buy shoes, handbags and leather goods and a little further is Lagos, with a marina, shops and restaurants.

Bars and restaurants within 2-5 minutes walk of the villa are as follows: Arcadia Bar, serving drinks; Boca Doce, with cakes to take away or eat in, meals or drinks; Cabanita's bar and restaurant, serving a range of starters, main courses and desserts; Karahi, Indian Restaurant and takeaway; Malibu Bar, serving drinks and bar snacks; Restaurant Sao Domingos, providing a wide range of starters, main courses and desserts and also a range of house specialities; and Restaurant O Girassol with a range of starters main courses and desserts.
Local shops within a five minute walk include: Arcadia, selling wines and beach goods; Boca Doce, selling cakes; Favorita, where you can buy fresh and frozen food, household goods and alcoholic drinks and a newsagent and laundrette. Also only 3 minutes walk away is Monica Bitoque, which provides hairdressing, massage, manicures and pedicures. Less than five minutes drive is Apolonia, a sort of Portuguese Waitrose, and Oceana, a mini supermarket selling fresh and frozen food, household goods and alcoholic drinks.
Slightly further, is Algarve shopping, with a large Asda style supermarket and lots of shops selling shoes, jewellery, perfumes, home furnishings, clothes etc.
Leisure activities within a short drive include water parks, zoo marine, pottery shops and boat trips. Information on all of these and booking where necessary is available at Alistair Macgregors office within two minutes walk of the villa.
Booking notes
Deposits are required in order to secure bookings, which will be held open for one week. Full payment is required eight weeks before the holiday. An additional cheque for £500 will be required to cover any damages, which will be returned following the holiday.

About the owner
We live in Cheshire with our nine year old son who has special needs. We also have two older children at university in Liverpool. We both work in the field of social housing, David as a partner in a firm of accountants specialising in the provision of services to the housing sector, and Sally as an independent consultant.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We bought Casa Cacadora (which in Portuguese means huntress) because we had enjoyed annual holidays in Vale de Parra for the past fifteen years. For the last three, we had been looking for the opportunity to purchase a property in the immediate vicinity due to the benefits offered by that specific location.
Whilst the area is very peaceful, the villa is within easy walking distance of several restaurants bars and shops.
Salgados Golf and a number of beautiful beaches are less than five minutes drive.
The villa is managed locally by our friend and agent Alistair Macgregor. His office is only fifty yards away allowing both ourselves and clients to contact him easily should there be any problems with the villa or if they would like him to organise, taxis, golf or excursions.
Unique benefits of the property
After some waiting and searching a five bedroom renovation project in large grounds became available. This mean't that we were able to design and equip it to meet our needs and taste, creating a modern villa with the spacious feel of an older property.
Externally we have added a large pergola, a children's swing and several fruit trees, as well as the facility to make the swimming pool inaccessible to children.
Inside it is fully air-conditioned, which is as useful in the winter months as the summer. This together with the heated towel rails and underfloor heating in the bathrooms means that the villa is comfortable all year round.
