Ideally and centrally located in the Maralvor development within easy walking distance approx 10 mins of Alvor town centre, the beach, swimming pool, sports centre and picturesque harbour. The apartment is situated within a well run, small development, with its own rception, lifts (2 for the apartment's section of the complex) swimming pool and cafe/bar (in season) It has air-conditioning in the lounge and bedroom. It can sleeps 4/5 and is most spacious and comfortable, furnished to a high standard. The balcony enjoys attractive views towards the sea. A large roof terrace area offers panoramic views of the surrounding area. Car hire, although desirable is not essential and direct transport either by private operator or taxi at reasonable cost is readily available from Faro Airport (approx 50 mins mostly by motorway). Alvor is an ideal base for the perfect holiday, whether lazing in the sun either at the pool or on the beach or engaging in many of the local sports and activities.

Booking deposit £200. Balance payable 10 weeks prior to holiday. Last-minute bookings discount available -please ask.

Changeover day
The owners are generally flexible as to what dates best suit guests for a changeover. Checking out please by 10.00am on the day of departure and check in is available from 4.00pm on the day of arrival.

Bedrooms: Bedroom with king size bed; builtin wardrobe;with dressing table and bedside cabinets, Double sofabed and foldaway bed in Lounge.The foldaway bed can also be used in the small room (lockable) off the bedroom). Wardrobe in hallway for guests using Lounge
Bathrooms: En-suite bathroom with bath and shower, WC, bidet and wash hand basin.
Separate bathroom with shower cubicle, WC and wash-hand basin.
Kitchen: Electric cooker, microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge and washing machine etc. Table and chairs. Dishwasher (washing machine on balcony). Fully equipped with all required crockery, cutlery and kitchen utensils.
Utility Room: Washing machine in the balcony outside kitchen door, space for drying clothes on dryer.
Living Rooms: A large lounge/dining area with a double sofa bed/settee, sofa and armchair, extending oak dining table and chairs, with TV and DVD and CD player. The foldaway single bed can be used either in this room or in the small room off the bedroom.
Other: Part of the balcony outside bedroom is enclosed and can be used either as an area for relaxing (2 occasional chairs and a coffee table are provided or as additional accommodation using the foldaway single bed available. Lockable door.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
The flat is cleaned prior to the arrival of guests. Mid-week in each stay there is a change of towels and a bathroom. At the end of each week there is a towel and linen change.

 

Notes on accommodation
The apartment is large (90 m2 - almost twice the size of some 1 bedroom apartments) and unusually enjoys two bathrooms, one of which is en-suite to the double bedroom. The apartment has been very recently renovated and decorated and is fitted out to a high standard.

Accessibility
Easy access by lifts from the ground floor although the car park area to the rear is on somewhat of a slope. The car park is secluded and enclosed with walls/fencing.

Outside
Shared swimming pool with children's section equipped with sun loungers and sun shades; adjacent to the cafe/snack bar (both the pool and the cafe/bar are open during most of the year). The apartment balcony is a good size and has a table and chairs which guests are welcome to use on the roof terrace if they so desire. Dining out locally is a definite must and offers both superb variety and value. Eg. Visit the local Bouganvilla restaurant and cook their delicious ‘steak on a stone’ to your own specification! Sample Portuguese sardines in season as you watch the sun setting over the harbour and you will enjoy an unforgettable treat!

Coast/Beach
Alvor (with its wonderful restaurants, bars and tourist shops), the beach and its picturesque harbour and promenade (with its cafes) are only 10 -15 minutes walk from the apartment. Praia do Vau and Praia da Rocha with their spectacular beaches are also within approx 30 mins walking distance. Alvor has its own large public swimming pool and sports centre near the harbour.

Golf
5 minutes walk to local driving range; 15 minutes walk to Alto Golf Course, 10 minute drive to 5* Championship Penina Golf course, 15-20 minute drive to Morgado do Reguengo Golf course. There are many other superb courses in this region.

Special interest holidays
Only 20 minute drive to the new F1 circuit, hosting the Superbikes and other racing competitions. Also available are cycling; surfing; windsurfing, dune buggy racing; sea-angling; horse riding, dolphin spotting; sea cruises, sand sculptures exhibition, Slide and Splash; trekking and walking; visit the scenic unspoiled Monchique mountain area and the majestic Silves Castle, both within easy travelling distance of Alvor. The weekly ‘Resident’ magazine provides valuable information regarding special events, exhibitions and local markets as well as local news.

Travel
Faro airport to Alvor is about 50km / 50 mins drive and is mostly motorway. Airport transfers can be arranged. There is a local bus service to Portimao. There is also a train service from Faro to Portimao. Taxis are readily available. Car hire, although desirable is not essential

Further details
Alvor has a huge variety of restaurants, tourist and specialist shops, bars and local fresh fish/vegetable market, supermarket, banks, historic chapel and Post Office etc.

Booking notes
£200 deposit required to secure apartment with full payment 10 weeks prior to arrival dates. Otherwise by arrangement. There is a refundable £100 security deposit also payable returned immediately after the apartment is checked on departure. Please enquire for rate if last minute booking required

Guest comments
The apartment has only been available for rental from the middle of June 2009. Feedback from guests has been extremely favourable.
