Spacious and well furnished 3 bedroom and 3 bathroom south facing apartment on top (2nd) floor of attractive building in small low-rise complex with shared pool and tennis court, close to Alvor beaches. The ceilings are high which make it cool in summer and the beamed ceiling and feature fire place with wood-burning stove in the living room make it cosy in winter. Attractive entrance patio with hand painted tiles. Large verandas with beautiful and relaxing views to the sea and mountains. 10 minutes walk to the nearest beach. Close to village amenities (600 m) and major town (4km) of Portimão. Regular bus service to Portimão/Praia da Rocha. Located between the two golf courses at Alto (3km) and Penina (7km).

Notes on accommodation
Electric oil filled heaters in all bedrooms. The apartment is located on the top floor (2nd) of a building with no lift. Extra bed 10 Euros per day.

Coast/Beach
Several excellent beaches close by. Alvor beach is 800m in front of apartment (10min walk) which is very safe for children, has various beach restaurants and facilities. Sailing, fishing and diving are local activities and can be booked in Alvor harbour promenade.

Golf
Penina golf courses (36 holes) approximately 7km. Alto Golf course about 3km. Morgado de Reguengos golf course about 15km.

Travel
Faro airport is an easy 45 minute drive away, mainly motorway. Car rental is advisable but not essential. Good taxi and public transport services available. The Alvor / Portimão-Praia da Rocha buses run every 10 minutes and stop next to the apartment.

Distances
Alvor village about 600m distance. Portimão approximately 4km. and Praia da Rocha (well known resort with beaches, casino, marina etc.) about 5km. Within 30 minutes, you reach Lagos, Monchique, Silves and several other places of interest. Lisbon is 2h30m distant by car and there is a very good bus or train connection for a one or two days trip.

Further details
Alvor is an attractive fishing village with many restaurants, banks, chemists, a daily market, supermarkets, newspaper and souvenir shops. Down by the harbour there is an elegant promenade where several boat trips are available. There you can find several restaurants serving fresh grilled fish as well as more sophisticated ones for a special night dinner! A short evening stroll for a pleasant night time atmosphere! The Zoo Marine, where you will be able to swim with dolphins and two Water Parks are a short drive from Alvor and children will enjoy a great day of thrills leaving the parents to relax a little.
Only 20 Km away are the mountains of Monchique with its spa and thermal water, where you can enjoy a fantastic view in a cooler mountain climate while enjoying the famous piri-piri grilled chicken or regional almond cakes! Silves and Lagos are two other towns worth visiting and a short drive away. In case of an emergency, there is a 24hours service private hospital right next to the apartment.

Booking notes
Payment by cheque or bank transfer. A 50% deposit paid with written confirmation of the booking. Balance due 4 weeks before arrival date.

The apartment was in a superb position within excellent walking distance from the town.We were most impressed with the size and the fact that we all had our own bathrooms.We enjoyed the privacy of the pool, the balconies at the front which had the sun most of the day and the views were spectacular.We’ll be back!Sheila-Sept 2010
