Some of the best golf resorts in Europe are within 15 min drive, including Praia Del Rey. Hence the villa is superbly situated for families, couples, groups, surfers and especially golfers. Anyone who wishes to relax in luxury, enjoys some privacy, and welcomes access to both a pool and beach all coupled with experiencing a 'real' Portuguese destination will relish this location.

Please also note that we can arrange special discounts for long-term winter lets between 1st Nov - 31st March. Minimum let period of one month - rate is £500/month + all utility bills are extra.

Changeover day
May to Sept: changeover day is a Saturday. For all other months we are totally flexible, depending on your available flights and any current bookings. We can easily work around early/late arrivals as key access is available 24hrs.

Living Rooms: Open plan living with a modern style dining room at one end overlooking the garden. Lounge area comprises both a two and three seater sofa. Three seater then extends to a king size sofa bed. Large Flatscreen TV & DVD. Real wood fire.
Other: Really useful ground floor bathroom, for those quick showers after lazy afternoons in and around the pool. There is also ample storage provided in a large understairs cupboard for guests use.

Notes on accommodation
The villa is at the end of a private road, hence no through- traffic, creating additional space at the front of the villa where smaller children can play in totally safety. The villa benefits from gas central heating, plus the addition of a real wood fire in the lounge, for those odd cosy nights. Cots and high chairs can easily be pre-arranged for a fee, and even a babysitting service can be organised. The pool is literally 15 metres from the house, making child supervision extremely stress-free. The access to the road is very private and gated for additional security, with an intercom communication system for any visitors.

Accessibility
There are no special features for those guests that have mobility requirements. However the access driveway and entire setting are on the flat. In addition to this the villa does contain the ground floor bathroom and sofa bed in the lounge. If you have specific requirements that are a prerequisite of your stay, please enquire and we will obviously provide accurate and detailed information.

Outside
This villa is one of only two semi-detached properties on this very private drive and hence benefits from additional privacy from its neighbours. Complimenting the villa is the largest garden of the seven properties and it is only 15 metres from the pool. The villa has a private patio with seating for eight, table & parasol. There are four sun loungers provided for guests use at the pool side. There is one balcony off the master suite and a larger sun terrace including the BBQ. Whilst the pool is shared with 6 other villas, it is large (48 sq.m.) and has extensive areas for loungers and sunbathing, with a direct pool-side shower.

Coast/Beach
The main Foz beach is literally a 15min walk. The clean and sandy beach runs adjacent to the lagoon but also faces the Atlantic Ocean. Bars, restaurants line the beach road offering original Portuguese recipes and freshly caught fish dishes. The furthest beach bar on the sand is great to sit and watch the sunset against the might of the Atlantic breakers. In July / August the beach has volley ball and other events to watch. Lagoon offers fishing, swimming and a sailing and windsurfing school.

Golf
Golfing enthusiasts will relish the opportunity to play some of these demanding courses on the Silver Coast. There are three main golf courses within 10-15 mins drive of the villa including Praia Del Rey, a former European Golf course of the year.
Others include; Bom Sucesso / Botado / Campo Real / Curia / Quinta Do Brincal / Vimeiro.

Travel
Lisbon Airport is only a 50 min direct and easy drive on an excellent motorway (A8). Porto Airport in the north of Portugal is approximately a 2.25 hours drive.
Cheap flights are available from EasyJet, Ryanair, TAP, BMI Baby etc. Car hire is recommended.

Distances
15 min from great golf at Praia Del Rey. The spa town of Caldas da Rainha is only a 5 minute drive, providing more extensive facilities, supermarkets, shopping, cinema. 10 min drive from the beautiful and charming medieval town of Obidos, the town boasts a candle-lit Easter procession, a 'medieval festival' in July, and a 'chocolate festival' in November. San Martino, a pleasant resort, is 15 mins north. Great surfing at Peniche beach- 15min. Leira, the largest & nearest city is 45 mins away.

Further details
Foz do Arelho contains a superb variety of bars, cafes and restaurants to appeal to most tastes and suit all budgets. The local shops are all in walking distance, i.e. butchers, newsagents, green grocers, deli, bakers etc. The local "Geladara" or ice cream parlour is literally 200 metres from the villa, which also has a bar! The centre of Foz has a bank with an ATM facility, a doctors, post office, hairdressers and a fishing tackle shop etc.

Booking notes
Rental deposit - 20% of the rental fee which is non-refundable. The balance payment is required 56 days prior to arrival. If arrival is within 56 days of a booking then the full rental amount is required immediately. A further £200 damage deposit is required. This will be returned once guests have departed and our agents have inspected that the villa has been left in a clean and tidy condition with no losses of property items, no breakages and keys returned. Cancellation charges will apply.
